I'm not sure if this is the correct board and honestly i dont care. But if you live in brooklyn or in the tri-state area you may have heard this story. A 15 year old was shot in the head monday night in east flatbush ( a predominantly black neighbor hood in brooklyn) I didn't know this at the time but the victim Eric Johnson was in my Math and English class last simester. I was talking to my boyfriend and he said that " I shouldn't be surprised that someone from our school was shot because majority of the people from are school come from lower to middle class neighborhoods." Now my question is if we reversed the steady decline of our lower class neighborhoods, would we see a decline in violent people? Or re-worded, do people change a neighborhood or does a neighborhood change a people?

are you saying the upper classes aren't violent?

Maybe if your country stopped pumping violence into the minds of its nation it would be slightly better, maybe not but hey.

For a start lets Ban WWF first
That will not solve the problem but will be a small step towards find a lasting solution .For a lsting solution the entire capitalist system needs to be overhauled ,re invented and consumerism should be abandoned as a means of economic progress

I think you'd see a decline...but it might take a while to "show".

For example, let's say you took an entire neighborhood of "lower class" people and transported them all to an area where all the homes were either new or completely renovated.

The question you'd have to ask is what else has changed?

If these people are still poor, exploited, oppressed, etc., then the level of violence will decline...but not by much and rather slowly over time.

If you don't feel that you have much "to live for", then it won't take much for you to be willing to kill for.

Of course at the present time, "improving" a neighborhood really translates into gentrification...the rents skyrocket and the "violent" poor are simply displaced. The new residents are pretty well-off if not rich and are not personally violent; they hire people to be violent for them.

Why exactly get rid of the wwf ? I don't think that wwf would have a negative impact if people would explain to others (especially young children) that these shows are just entertainment.
