Ban the racists - no matter how many

Most of my life has been in combat with these shits and
no ammount of mollycuddling seems to work.
A witchunt is a reasonable response to those whose ignorance demotes a human being to a racist stereotype.

Thine Stalin, a racist is a racist, if you can't see it you're looking the other way. I'm not talking about getting rid of people on suspicion of racism, just genuine racists. It's easily spotted and if confronted I'm sure a real racist will be uncovered, if the person has been misunderstood, then no harm done.
There's no point in sticking up for someone or taking the alternate side just because you feel you've been treated unfairly, as I think (only a guess) may be the case by some people here.

BOZG this isn't a personal attack on you. But the issue here is racism, by bringing stalin into it -for no apparent reason- you're really going to cause the issue to become muddled and people will go against you and get pissed off with this thread because of this. When in reality they probably hate racism as much as all of us do.

I don't think there is any real benefit from completely blocking racists from the left. I think that it would be much easier to try and make them see sense on here then just letting them continue to be racists. I'm sure there are many left wing racists who can contribute on other issues and it will be sad to lose that completely so it would be better if we try to change their ways.

I hate those racist motherfuckers but I don't think that it is a good idea to ban them. Because if you do, it will make them stronger. When you oppress something, especially political opinion, you make it interesting for those who never thought to support it. Just one example: in 1920 the government of Kingdom of Yugoslavia banned the Communist Party, arrested many members, tortured them. They tried to ban and to destroy the Communist Party. But, more and more people were joining the Communist Party, not only because they understood the programme and not only because they agreed with the goals, but also because they saw and challenge and adventure in joining to something that is illegal. In 1941 Communist Party was so strong that it was able to start a war against Nazis. (this is just an example, not equalising Communist Party with Racist or something).
And that was back in 1920. If you take in consideration that today people are even more eager to seek adventures and even more eager to join illegal movements, it would be completely wrong to ban the racist assholes.
What we have to do is to make them politically non-influential. And we can do that by promoting our cause and our goals.

Agreed. I too have spent a lot of time trying to educate and inform the racists that I know. But it doesn't work. And I believe that it is because racists are dealing with issues unrelated to their racism, but their personal problems, anger, etc, are vented on another race to help themselves feel more significant. Instead of fighting against their real oppressors, too many turn their anger towards others. It's such a joke to me when I see a lower class somebody of one race and a lower class somebody of another race get into a fight and spew racism, I mean, come on- WAKE UP!
