View Full Version : Bad U$A education - Obvious, but it pisses me off

I have a personal website, and a little girl posted something on it, she told me it was brave of me to come out and say I'm a communist on a site, WTF! I mean, here in Mexico you are a communist and none says a thing, sure there always will be someone that looks you with evil eyes, like when I wear a zapatista t-shirt or I buy a book on communism... but most of the time, you are free to believe in what you want to believe, not like in the $tates, land of the oppressed. So, I had a talk with this girl, she's from the U$ and she is 12 years old. We were talking about the education on the U$, about communism, I asked her what they tell her in school about the subject and all I saw is how they teach kids that communism is wrong and that's all they say about it! I know, it's obvious they won't go around saying it's something good, but it still pisses me off.
Anyways, my point here is... it pisses me off that they give the wrong information to the kids, they manipulate them and poison their minds with wrong defenitions of things, you know what I mean? And this girl tells me I'm calling her naive because what they tell them in school is truth, which proves more my point on the bad education. It just pisses me off.

Education is just like anything else, you get out of it what you put into it.
In the US, you can wear whatever you wish, and other than funny looks, nobody is going to arrest you. Heck, there've been times when KKK rallies were the day after Nation of Islam rallies... (both of which are worthless, but I digress).
If she is 12, she hasn't gotten to the point where they really get into politics. In fact, in 6th grade, I don't think they've probably really discussed Communism at all.

like when I wear a zapatista t-shirt or I buy a book on communism...A bit off-topic, but I thought I'd mention it anyhow. I once saw a guy who was wearing a top which had "Che Vive" on the back of the collar. That's all that was on it, no silhouette of his face, or anything like that, just two small words in an inconspicuous place. I swear I could have hugged him. It was just perfect - enough to make a point, but not enough to come across as overdone.

Yeah, off topic I guess, but cool!

That American education is so inferior because of freedom of speech is a bad excuse. American education is bad because hardly any money is put into it and the what little funds do go to schools are spent more and more on standardized testing. If the US would stop spending so much of its money on herbicide in Colombia and stop letting corporations hide in tax shelters (and I won't even get into pork barrel projects . . . I could go on about that forever), it would have enough money to give children a good education. But come to think of it, political open-mindedness seems a little petty when you consider that one out of five children in starving.

American education can be so much better. Most of the teacher are there because they need the money, but there are those who are there because they love their job. Still, it has no respect for culture, it is descriminatory against ethnic groups and class. Much, much more money is given to the suburbs of the USA than the inner cities and less to Southern states, where mostly the poor of the country live.
I was taught communism was bad, not directly that I can remember, but when you think of the word communism, it sounds so dirty, so evil. That is the American mentality, planted into those who live(ed) here without us really knowing it. It is sad, it really is.
Tete, which part of México are you from? What is the URL for your website?

Yeah, I mean, it's the whole bad education. Then this girl I tell you about went to ask her Dad about communism, and of course the Dad told her it was something evil! Oh well, it's something that comes from the U$ roots I guess.
I'm from Mexico City, Chilanga 100% ;) My website is http://unotime-eleni.net still kinda rusty and I don't enjoy the domain name anymore, I wanna change it but I don't know what for, any ideas?... sorry, off topic. I wanted to call it red-star.net but that was taken and I had a silly LOTR euphoria on that time... OK, I'll stop my ramble.

tetelives,
Actually, it is a good website. Maybe you can re-name it victoria siempre, or simply roja. I had a website about Puerto Rican independence, but it wasn't that good and it took too much of my time. I might make another website though, not sure. Any ideas? lol! ;)

Education is always used to spread the ideology of the state. US capitalistic ideology is about the great USA and their world dominance. US governmnet sees the serious opposition in the communist theory and that is the reason of the disinformation and lies about communism in all History books.
USA don't have even the Freedom of Speech. Would an ordinary US citizen, who agrees with communist ideology, be able to tell the masses about advantages of communism over capitalism over CNN or whatever popular channel? I don't think so.
That is capitalistic democracy, which can be compared with authoritarian regime of capitalists.
