The term "late capitalism" refers to the oldest capitalist societies...usually considered to be England, Holland, France, Germany, and the United States.

The youngest capitalist countries are obviously Russia and China.

Other "young" capitalist countries would be Taiwan, South Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, and the formerly socialist countries in Eastern Europe.

North Korea may become the youngest capitalist country before this decade is over.

I would say Cuba.

I would say Cuba too, except for the fact that it's neither a Late Capitalist nor 'young' capitalist country.
Some people (and I include, pre-emptively, those that fail to see the conditions ripening in Venezuela) just wouldn't know what a socialist REVOLUTION (as opposed to some theorised idea of being in a STATE of 'socialism') looks like.

Cuba is as much capitalist as I play tennis right-handed (I am left handed but can, when necessary, hit a winning ball with my north paw).

If anyone is actually interested in Late Capitalism, the economic theories and political implications, try (and I mean TRY) reading Ernest Mandel- "Late Capitalism". This is the classic tome on the topic (and is less numbing than "Marxist Economic Theory". As much as I like and enjoy both books, his style is a bit dry for most).

Growth of Capitalism in china (http://www.adb.org/documents/studies/PRC_Private_Enterprise_Development/default.asp)

There is a review about the growth of capitalism in China. The report says that 2/3 are in some form private owned sector. The report is Bourgeiose, a organisation that is assiting with the spread of capitalism in Asia.

I've always considered Cuba as socialist. That does not necessitate that it is a good type of 'socialism'. From what I know, there a little areas where there could be (or are) capitalistic type forms in the super structures of the country. But in essence, I believe it is socialist, just not as I would have envisioned such a place to be.

Me too, but they have private resturants etc. in Cuba, dollar shops, where normal Cuban people can't afford to buy anything. I would say the mentality of the Cuban people is communist, but the country is not. I'll eloborate if you wish.
