You realize that when the Baath Party took over Iraq in 1963, they murdered thousands (don't remember the exact number) of communists from a list given to them by the CIA?

damn fool,

the WCI are councilists, Baathists were at best, populists.

They're the ones they showed on TV after the capture of Saddam waving red flags. It was really funny to see the confusion of the capitalist media over that!

Something somebody told me today about the WcPI:

The "Worker-communist Party of Iraq" is basically just as bad (if not worse) as the old ICP leadership. Both of those "Communist" parties support keeping US troops in Iraq. And WCPI supported the US invasion. There was a case where a WCPI member (since they all lived outside of Iraq, yet claimed to be a vanguard hehe) beat up another Iraqi living abroad because the guy opposed the US invasion (this was at an anti-war protest in Europe). The WCPI is also more absurd than ICP in that they believe "socialism has never existed" and that "Soviet Union, China and Albania were state capitalist!"
And, relating to my previous comments about Saddam killing communists, from another person:

The "communists" of Iraq were receiving support from the Iranian's and Egyptian communist parties to fight against the Saddam Hussein government whilst it was occupied with the Iran-Iraq war. Saddam did what any leader would do when someone tries to topple your government.

And the lie that he killed 3000 iraqi communist party members cannot be true because the most members the ICP has ever had was in 1984 which was 2,000 members link: http://reference.allrefer.com/country-guid...aq/iraq109.html

That's interesting. I'd love to see a strong councilist movement emerge somewhere.

Worker communist party Iraq is as far as I know the same as the Iran WCP.

And they have a tv-show on a channel run by old pro-shah people. That seems rather dubious, of course the Ayatollahs are our enemy but that doesn't mean we form a partnership with the capitalists. That was the policy that lead the pro-moscow Tudeh party to defeat in 1979. They formed an alliance with Khomeini to boot out the shah. That lead to a massmurder on leftists and shows the rotten nature of the popular front strategy in crucial situations.

Btw I read somewere that WPI split, I just can't seem to find the article. As far as I remember the split was over if they should follow popular frontism against the ayathollahs or if they should build on a independent working class basis. Im not 100% sure though
