Why join the CPUSA? They just support the Democratic Party anyway. You may as well go all out and be a Democrat.

Good for you. Getting involved is far more important than pessimistic complaining.
Even if the party's only voice is as a lobby group within the democratic party, at least their working towards the right goal.
I live in Canada but I'm a member of the New Democrat Party. If I still lived in the East I'd probably work for the Marxist/Leninist Party, but they're virtually non-existant in this part of the country.

No, I think both the situation of the ICP and the general situation of the israeli left are completely different than in the USA.
I just want to know what brought you to choose the CPUSA and not the other parties active there (SWP, WWP, SPUSA etc...).

As a member of the Socialist Party USA, I can assure you we DO NOT support Democrats. You claim to be a Democrat, and by extension support Democrats. We are socialists; not Democrats. We run our own candidates, where possible, and support other anticapitalist candidates not connected to the Democratic Party.
If anyone supports the Democrats, then by all means join the Democratic Party, but leave socialist parties that oppose the Democrats to the rest of us who actually stick with the idea of a social transformation of society, workers' self-emancipation and the collective ownership of the means of production, and reject supporting capitalists, their allies and their henchmen.

and you have Peter Kropotkin, an Anarchist, as your avatar. You strike me as being politically confused right now and you should really try and work out your politics before you start joining parties left and right.
The Communist Party USA supports the Democratic Party, a capitalist ruling class party. The Socialist Party USA believes in independence from capitalist parties. We want a working class party to fight for social revolution. We are not a vanguardist organization. We believe in democratic revolution from below. As it says in our statement of principles:
No oppressed group has ever been liberated except by its own organized efforts to overthrow its oppressors. A society based on radical democracy, with power exercised through people's organizations, requires a socialist transformation from below. People's organizations cannot be created by legislation, nor can they spring into being only on the eve of a revolution.
They can grow only in the course of popular struggles, especially those of women, labor, and minority groups. The Socialist Party works to build these organizations democratically.
http://www.sp-usa.org/about/principles.html
A party will not lead the revolution. It will be the people's own organizations, such as radical Industrial Unions like the Industrial Workers of the World (http://www.iww.org), confederated workers' councils and people's assemblies/councils.

Not all in that link are parties and many of the groups work in broader movements, Labour, RESPECT, Socialist Alliance etc. But yes there have always been a myriad of groups claiming to be "the new party" even though they consists of nothing
