The ESF is a unique opportunity where social movements, trade unions, NGOs, refugees, peace and anti-imperialist groups, anti-racist movements, environmental movements, networks of the excluded and community campaigns from Europe and the world can come together to discuss how to achieve global social justice for all and debate ways of making 'another world possible'.

The third European Social Forum will take place from 14-17 October in London
http://www.fse-esf.org/en/

Speakers are coming from Latin America
including a

senator from the Brazilian P-Sol, Bolivian leader Evo Morales and
Che Guevara's

daughter! Other speakers include George Monbiot, Vandana Shiva, Bob Crow, P K

Murthy the Indian Mineworkers union leader, John Pilger, and Oronto

Douglas, the

leader of the Nigerian groups fighting Shell.
The ESF will also be a carnival of counter culture. Latest bookings include

'Inside the Coup' about the attempt to oust Chavez, an exclusive new
film about

the resistance in Iraq and a whole festival of Palestinian films including the

acclaimed road movie 'Route 181'. There will be music including an
anti fascist

concert at the Astoria with rappers from across Europe and ex Clash man Mick

Jones' new band.

Im thinking of going if I have the money and time.
I do however don't understand why Monbiot is going to be there. I heard him speak at the last Danish Social Forum, what a sham. He's advocating capitalism with some minor reforms and then he tries to make it sound sooooo "intellectual".

i can always go do something else when he is speaking or question him,
the writing if his ive read isnt that bad.
www.Monbiot.com is his site. some of the older ppl seem to think reforms and writing alone is enough to change society - well not just older ppl.

the rest of it (well lotas of it) sounds great. i'll be intrested in hearing back about it.
britis and nearby euro ppl make the effort.
