Dear Comrades, Brothers and Sisters,

On August 16 the Venezuelan CNE (Electoral National Council) announced the result of the recall referendum on Hugo Chavez’s government. An overwhelming majority of the Venezuelan people (almost 60%) voted against the recall of Chavez. In voting for the NO option they also expressed their rejection of the privileges of the oligarchy and US intervention in Venezuelan politics and their desire instead to see an improvement in their own working and living conditions. This result is not an accident, nor an electoral fraud as the so-called opposition have claimed. The result shows that the Venezuelan people have said “enough is enough” and that they are resolutely committed to the struggle against Imperialism and their local puppets.

I am therefore very pleased to announce a meeting that is going to take place in the Grimmond Room at Portcullis House (Houses of Parliament).

Please make an effort to be there and advertise this meetings as widely as possible among your trade union branch, workmates, college and friends.
All are welcome,

Ramon Samblas
