Marx's Dialectics vs. the Scientific method

Which do you suppose is better reasoning: the scientific method OR Marx's dialectics? Information: On Dialectics (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dialectics) and the scientific method. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scientific_method)

That's a false dichotomy.

I don't mean they're exactly the same - Marxism doesn't meet the Popperian definition of science - though there are similarities.

More that they're useful for different things...and insights from each can be useful to the other.

I also think Marxism can claim to be at least as scientific - even in the Popperian sense - as any other attempted investigation of human society. The bourgeois social "sciences" are all distorted by things they refuse to see...ultimately, because it's not in the interest of capitalism to understand human society too well. Anthropology's a good example.

That isn't a bad site, butit doesn't explain things in anywhere near enough detail. The description of Marxist dialectic is poor. Hegel's is a lot easier to grasp than the texts I read to learn about it though.

How can there be any hesitation on this question; in fact, how can it still even be a question?

We have a torrent of evidence confirming the usefulness of the scientific method.

We don't even have a drop of evidence of the utility of "dialectics"!

Historical materialism is a science.

"Dialectics" is a "secret key" to "universal understanding" available only to members of a cult who have been initiated into its "mysteries".

In other words, "dialectics" is a fraud, like "Scientology" or "Christian science".

You may just as well take up "revolutionary" astrology!
