Bush hits Cuba for 'sex tourism'

By Jerry Seper and James G. Lakely
THE WASHINGTON TIMES

President Bush yesterday castigated Fidel Castro's regime for contributing to the worldwide problem of human trafficking by becoming a destination for "sex tourism" and vowed to work toward "the rapid, peaceful transition to democracy in Cuba."

"Human life is the gift of our creator, and it should never be for sale," Mr. Bush told participants at the first national training conference on "Human Trafficking in the United States" in Tampa, Fla

"We have put a strategy in place to hasten the day when no Cuban child is exploited to finance a failed revolution and every Cuban citizen will live in freedom," said Mr. Bush, who won Florida, and the presidency in 2000, by just 547 votes.

The State Department reported last month that as many as 800,000 men, women and children are bought, sold and smuggled across international borders against their will into forced labor, prostitution, sweatshops, domestic servitude, farming and child armies. As many as 17,500 human-trafficking victims are thought to be in the United States

I dont see him judge south east Asia for having a huge sex industry with prostitution, including high numbers of child prostitution.

I dont see him judge the high numbers or prostituion and trade/smuggling of young girls and boy from Russia and other eastern European countries...

No Cuba are the bastards here...not the perverted yanks that go there to have sex with these children, no they are innocent followers of the democratic freedom cult

Bush has put a strategy to hasten bla bla...what does he mean by that? Supporting terrorist groups? Supporting assassination attemps on Fidel Castro and the Cuban government? Supporting big companies who already have big plans on how they will take over Cuba?

it should never be for sale? God's creation?

Damn...I thought the US was a secular capitalist state...God has nothing to do with politics (so Presidents should shut up about him) and everything can be bought if you have the money for it...

Cuba has nothing on Asia in regards to the sex tourist trade. I don't know what Bush is talking about. How can one little island of 11 million possibly have as many children selling themselves as a continent of over 1 billion?

Fidel exposes Bush’s lies and slander to justify the measures against Cuban Americans and their families on the island (http://www.granma.cu/ingles/2004/julio/mar27/31fc26-i.html) - from Granma International

I'd be willing to bet NYC has more prostitutes than Cuba.

He's also claiming that the Cuban government tolerates sexual slavery, which is a truly ridiculous slander. And the decriminalization of the prostitutes themselves makes it harder for anyone to pimp or enslave them.

In contrast to the U.S., where the prostitution and immigration laws help intimidate victims of human trafficking from going to the authorities.

Let alone southeast Asia or south Korea, where women are routinely enslaved in brothels, including for the use of U.S. soldiers....so routinely that the police have to be tolerating the enslavement.

Sure, if you go to Cuba as a tourist, you'll get prostitutes approaching you.

However the practice is certainly not encouraged, and it is foolish to think that there are droves of prostitutes that have invaded every street corner. I certainly did not see any evidence of child prostitution.

I doubt that Havana for example has any huge number more prostitutes than any other major city, most likely less than NYC or LA or even London. What perhaps makes the prostitutes in Cuba more noticeable to tourists, is that they are specifically attempting to attract tourists.

The Western Capitalist nations most definately have the monopoly of the sex industry, from Amsterdam to Playboy, from Hustler to Ann-Summers.

Laughable that Bush chooses to attack Cuba on this front - of all the things he could choose, he chose the one on which he's wrong.

Given that Protitution is totally legal as a home-industry in the UK, why does Bush not attack Blair on this if it bothers him so much? And of the 'tolerance' zones sprouting all over the UK? Does this not concern him? Consistency, if you please!

Bush is a fucking **** for targeting Cuba with this lame-ass crap.

I mean, seriously. Anyone with half a brain would know that prostitution is one of the many things that improved hugely after socialism. The rate of prostitution decreased incredibly after Castro. Bush could at least give us a challenge, but this prostitution shit just doesn't fly with anyone who knows anything.

This is what Mr. Bush needs to do. I call it a frozen shit ass-dildo. Half-way through taking a shit, when the turd is hanging out, he'll wet the crap, then stand in a freezer until the turd freezes over. Then he'll sit down really fast as the shit penetrates his rectum. It'll be great.

Bush is maybe looking for a new target for war, or perhaps trying to create some distraction from the Iraq thing?

I know that Kerry wants to intensify US policy in Latin America, perhaps that could also be a reason for Bush to start *****ing towards Cuba, with the elections and all
