It really dosen't matter how good it is as a game, its used as a recruting tool the very fact that the army uses a video game, And as is very clear there are no games that can even come lose to showing the true horrors of war its i way to idealise it thus makeing it seem fun.

The first-person shooter games were originally used by the military as training simulators fyi.

part of the whole point of army training is to get the soldiers to distance themselves from the horrors and essentially treat fighting as a game. soldiers are trained to see their opponents not as other humans but as objects/creatures less than themselves since it makes it easier for the soldiers to be ruthless. therefore a computer game is an ideal method for induction and to a certain extent, training.

that is partly where the abuse of iraqi prisoners has been said to stem from. the fighting troops have not yet been replaced with peacekeeping troops, for obvious reasons. peacekeepers have different training and dont view the opponents in such an objective way. however the fighting troops are trained and indoctrinated to be violent towards the enemy, and there is no reason for this to stop just because the enemy is in a cage.

Doom is rather to sifi for an army training sim yet the new doom (3) looks like it could really freak the shit of of any on that plays it.

GTA over-rated!?!?!? It is one of the best games ever! Nothing's more fun than driving along a busy pavement at 100mph in a tank whilst shooting at police cars....(in a game of course!)

u want violence levels u should play manhunt. its not so bad that it should have been banned here in the UK but it is well graphic and a good game in its own right... not to mention that there is a naked man with a chainsaw and pigskin stretched over his head lol

im sure if someone was good at hacking they could superimpose faces on screenshots. i know someone who put 'made from real spunk' accross a milkshake websites logo, but i doubt he'd be interested in doin this. he is hardly very politically motivated lol
