So I walk into a local store that sells athletic shoes, clothes, etc. Of course the place is littered with posters of star athletes promoting their respective brand.
I look up again, and I see a poster of Jay-Z wearing a Che shirt.
I mean, who does this guy think he is?! I think someone should do research on Rocafella brand clothing, to see if they use sweatshops. If they do, wearing Che on his shirt isn't exactly appealing. It just shows how misinformed people are.

Honestly I think he started that sh¡t just to piss off Nas, showing that he can be a fake revolutionary too.

I think it would need a lot of bludgeoning with a club for Jay-Z to realise that he could never be Che.

"His first move in this direction occurred when he appeared on MTV unplugged with a T-shirt bearing Che Guevara’s face. I found it rather curious, but hey, I figured maybe he thought it was a cool shirt to wear and doesn’t really know who Che is. Then on The Blueprint 2: The Gift and the Curse he refers to himself as the revolutionary Jay Guevara, while in the same song he says he’s like Ross Perot? Truthfully, I was annoyed by the reference, but I was probably more annoyed by that whole album, so I didn’t really focus on it.

Then, on The Black Album, he takes it to the next level and says “I’m like Che Guevara with bling on, I’m complex.” This was the last straw for me. At first, I wasn’t really sure whether he knew who Che was, but after he made this ridiculous remark, I was sure he DIDN’T know who Che was. That’s like saying “I’m like, Arafat with an Israeli Flag on I’m complex.” No you’re not, you are an asshole. By the way just because you have said something that doesn’t make sense, doesn’t make it complex.
To add insult to injury, in the same verse he uses the famous Malcolm X quote: “by any means”, to describe his approach to getting money (hustling) and towards the end of the verse says he has a hustler’s spirit. Let me get this straight, you are like Che Guevara with bling on, and you have a hustler’s spirit. I can assure you Che doesn’t possess such a spirit or bling. But in the words of the mad rapper, let me explain a bit about Che so that you can begin to understand why I am mad.
Che Guevara was a communist revolutionary, who helped overthrow a U.S. puppet dictator in Cuba, and tried to do the same thing in Africa (the Congo) and South America (Bolivia) before he was eventually captured and murdered by the C.I.A.
Jay-Z is a rapper who raps about how much drugs he sold to people in his community, calls himself god, and has gone on to sell millions of dollars worth of records, clothing, sneakers and Vodka."

well put ComradeStrawberry.
In the end, Jay-Z's another puppet of America, starting a big corporation, etc.
It's one thing to get money, and do whatever it is that you do. But don't compare yourself to someone who had totally different ideals than yourself.

He is not stupid, he is a capitalist. We shouldnt take him serious he is jsut doing buisness. When it comes to album he would concentrate what will work best for competition reasons.

lol, whats the big deal with all this? he is just some rapper finding a way to try and make himself more complex then he really is.
at the end of the day, its just words, and we all know he aint got nothing on che, no matter how big his ego is, lots of people wear Che T-shirts, doesnt make them communists or even know the slightest thing about Che, most of them dont even know who the guy was, i doubt they even know his name.
his face has been turned into a fasion trend, and lots of people wear his clothes, not to make a politcal statement, but to make a fasion statement.

at first i was thinking, 'yeh wearing che t-shirts could spread his ideas' then i got to know these people wearing the shirts and was disappointed.
Well as for Nas, i think hes "more of a revolutionary" then Jay-z but still a tool of the cappies

Has anyone seen the thieves anthem video by nas? Nas has an extra who wears a che shirt on his head instead of a ski mask. Are they reffering to Che as a theif or is he trying to copy Jay Z? I bet Jay Z just saw a picture of Che holding anafrican baby in Congo and decided he would like che for now on.

At least we are not making assumptions without even knowing what he meant by wearing the shirt or the lyrics.

Of course it would have to be an African baby right? It could not be that he saw his face somewhere like everyone else does, it would have to be in some obscure picture of Che in the Congo. I'm sure those pictures are just laying on the ground up in 125th Street.

no actually the balaclava's are just stylish things.
the video is quite deep for a rap star, all the people in the ski masks represent people who steal from the form of physical form to emotional form.
I'm geussing he just used the Ché one because it looked stylish, thats what some people need to understand, most people who wear Che T-shirts arnt trying to make a statement, its just fasion.

Che Guevara with 'bling' on isn't Che Guevara at all.
Jay-Z is a sellout who has lied to his fans repeatedly. He's admitted to dumbing down his music to make more money. Definitely a traitor to the Hip Hop community.

They sell Che shirts in the mall now for fucks sake. Jay-Z is hardly the first asshole to wear a Che shirt as a fashion statement.
Not to get off topic, but I thought it was highly inappropriate for NAS to accuse Jay-Z of having "dick sucking lips" on one of his albums.

Says you, but then again you have never had anything interesting to say.
And this a Che forum not the Jay Z one. One topic is enough.
