In the US there are countless leftist and feminist magazines. Most of them are merely 'liberal' and 'democratic', but often report on some meaningful stuff. It's kind of like the American left's answer to conservative radio talk shows.

So, does anyone here happen to read any of these magazines? Do you subscribe?

I personally like Harper's, the Progressive, Mother Jones, and the Nation. The New Yorker can also be considered "leftist", but is a slightly different category and is often less radical, wouldn't you say?

Off Our Backs is a pretty good feminist magazine as well.

I read International Socialist Review. It's put out by The ISO,so it has a Trotskyist slant, but still has some pretty good articles.

I've only found the more underground leftist stuff at protests. Where do you get that mag?

I subscribed to 'the millitant' for a wee while and cause I am a member of the SWO I get the NZ socialist review and the British one sometimes (the british one kicks ass).
i brought 'anti imperialism - a guide to the movement' that was put out by bookmarks (www.bookmarks.uk.com) and written mostly by SWO ppl I think - it is introduced by Tariq Ali and it covers imperialism, civil liberties, the imf and world bank, the united nations, palestine, iraq, afghanistan, and so on. It was written in 2003. Not a magazine.. sorry im straying.
Ive read two other magazines put put by other parties here. they love to slag the other leftist parties off - wahoo we can all fight each other :) Ive got a few anarchist zines too.
I want to read new left review sometime (the magazine tariq ali is involved with).

Let's start our own! We can do it! I can get us server space (300 megs of space with unlimited bandwidth!) and we can use .tk or .uni.cc for a domain name! Togather we'd create the best leftist mag!

I used to do comics (different to cartoon, comedy stuff) for a magazine here in Australia called 'Resistance magazine'...... Its a good read for anyone in Australia, it can be picked up at res stalls at demos, at unis or any where were they sell Green Left.
It comes out every 2 or 3 months. Its put together by the youth of Resistance, so for those of you in Oz, I'm sure your contributions would be welcomed!

I read the New Internationalist and The Big Issues. The latter is actually quite progressive and worth buying now and again although it focuses more on culture than politics.
