according to yesterday's survey, only 19 percent of the israeli population consider themselves leftists. today, at 19:30 in Rabin Square, Tel Aviv, a mass leftist demonstration will take place. i'm afraid that it will not be as big as the demonstrations we know from 1993-4 or from 1999-2000. sharon's military offensive in the occupied territories has drawn more and more people to the right. i hope my fears will not become a reality, and we will once again see hunderds of thousands of people swarm the square, denouncing the violence and calling for peace.

Some of their fears are well-founded though. Did you see the pictures Malte posted not so long ago of Nazi salutes being given at a German pro-Palestine rally?? And on this board, I have encountered countless anti-semites, such as Thine Stalin, Stalinsoldiers, Yuri Andropov, Chupacabra, Ho etc to name but a few...

I am anti-zionist, not anti-semite. An entire race and one country are not linked, and if they are, only in simple minds. Does every religious group in the world have a "right" to a nation?

Also, the leadership in Israel is being very short-sighted. Instead of doing everything they can do to achieve peace and integrate their Muslim neighbors, they wage war with them at every turn. This is extremely short-sighted, and, in a nutshell, very stupid. Why?

Because the day will come- one day, maybe a year, a decade, a century- when the U$ no longer supports Israel to the extent that they do today with the current 6 billion a year. And that day will be a sad day for Israel, for instead of making peace and creating friendly and civil relations with their neighbors, they have fought them since day one. And when that day comes, due to their own stubborn self-righteousness and pathetically short-sighted policies, Israel is fucking toast.

Israel is just another one of amerikkka's pets bending over for a handout, another amerikkkan whore, another hired gun for amerikkka, reeking havoc on the world with amerikkkan money and guns, serving amerikkkan needs for destabilization in the Middle East. Yeah, Israel is so fucking toast one day it's unbelievable. You reap what you sow...

let's diffrentiate between to types of zionism - racist zionism and peaceful zionism (i made up the names). racist zionism is advocated by the jewish settlers in the occupied territories. according to racist zionism, the land between the river of jordan and the sea belongs to the jews, and to the jews only. the palestinians have no room there, according to this kind of zionism.
the peaceful zionism, which i advocate, says that the jewish people deserve an independant state in the land of israel, but it acknowledges the palestinians' right for an independant state as well. peaceful zionists support two states in the land - a jewish one, and a palestinian one.
zionism is not EVIL by nature. don't generalize zionists as evil.
