I can't wait for the U$ to give up trying to be seen as an honest broker while at the same time being directly responsible for the constant escalation of the war by funneling weapons to Israel.

It's time for Europe to step up and tell Dubya to just get over on the Israeli side if that's where he wants to be and let the Europeans be the brokers. The U$ can't have it both ways.

Isreal wouldn`t allow that, for Isreal knows all too well what would happen if the EU steped in. Isreal only respects, fears and listens to Big Brother. It doesn`t give a shit about the EU or the UN or the United Arabs or russia or china or mars. Not only is Isreal the 4th largest army in the world but if anyone were crazy enough to "atack" Isreal, what do you think the US would do? Just recently, Isreal humiliated both the UN and the EU by refusing the former access to Jenin and the latter access to arafat. Both these instances cant and dont in fact tell Isreal what to do, they "ask" Isreal, and if Isreal no like, Isreal say no. Only the US can refrain its dog, likewise only the US can put the ignobile creature to death. But sadly the US likes its pet, so the only thing that remains, for all palestinians of praide and honour is to fight to the death, even without hope of being able to win. And you can say what you want about arabs, but one thing you can not say, is that they aren`t a proud people. History is a testement to it.

presenting it as if israel is the big monster and the palestinians are innocent is misleading. just to clarify things before i start - i do not try to justify any violent action. i denounce terrorism as well as military actions against civilian targets.
documents which were cought in Ramallah link Arafat directly to terrorist who killed innocent israeli civilians in Jerusalem, Tel Aviv and other major cities. He funded terrorist organizations and knew about attacks inside the green line. he is not an innocent man, but a terrorist with blood on his hands.
Sharon is not an innocent little girl as well. 20 years ago in Sabra and Shatila he allowed thousands of palestinian refugees to be savagely assassinated by the flangs (or whatever you call them in english, i'm a hebrew speaker).
the israeli occupation in the territories is immoral and corrupting. taking an 18 years old kid, putting a gun in his hands, and putting him infront of a 4 years old palestinian kid is terrible. my friend's brother returned from the territories after 2 weeks of fighting and locked himself in his room. he couldn't even talk about what he saw and did out there. his soul was corrupted by the occupation.
the only way to stanch terrorism is by diplomatic channels. arafat can stop terrorism, but right now he doesn't want to.

Honestly, if the US were to cut all funding to Israel, there would be another holocaust. The only way to end this circle of hatred is through some kind of peace agreement and hopefully an independent Palestinian State. I don't see why you people are such staunch supporters of Jihadists and Suicide bombers. I don't agree with Israeli attacks on Palestinian refugee camps and cities, but the UN already declared that no real massacre occured at Jenin, but "unecessary force was used."

The UN said that there was an ugly massacre in jenin , the Aid workers of the red cross and red crescent couldnt believe their eyes of what they saw when they were allowed to enter the jenin refugee camp ....

And UN investigating team was about to go to jenin and investigate the massacre ..... but the israeli didnt allow that ! so they couldnt go !!

Arafat's authority is totally impotent in all respects, it's laughable to say that he "could stop terrorism".
It's not like anyone can stop "terrorism", even the only superpower in the world got hit by it big-time, all the resources at their disposal didn't stop 9/11.


The ball is 100% in Sharon's court now, he's the only one who can stop it, and he's the one that doesn't want to. Arafat is desperate to end these incursions into Palestinian territory, Sharon is just fine with it because it takes internal pressure off him.

We don't condone attacks on civillians. Its a shame that Jihad dosen't concentrate on the fascist Isrealite millitary. But the fact is, suicide is the last resort for a lot of the Palestinians, which shows how really bad it is. If your whole family was killed, your freedom was completely taken away and you were forced to live a third-rate life, what would you do? Conform and live a cummy life without a family or future or die fighting the opressors that brought you to that stage? I think the decision would be obvious.

True Menshevik. When I was in Al Quds a few weeks ago a Jewish Extremist group planted a bomb in the place that kids line up before school starts in a Palestinian school (Christian, I believe). It was set to go off at the time the place was crowded with kids.

The teachers evacuated when they found it in time and called the Israeli bomb squad which they say hung up on them. Either way they didn't show up 'till it was on the news. Nice.
