30,000 Rally In support Of Israel - JUst got back from the c

I have just got back from trafalgar square where there were 30,000 peole (including my bubbe) rallying for Israel, all holding Israeli flags and ridculous placards such as "Jordan is the palestinian state". ANyway theat wanker netanyahu addressed crowd while they cheeered.

I was aatttending a counter rally made up of Jews (including some israelies) opposed to the occupation and demnding justice for the palestinians. Really good, although the crowqd from the main rally hurled a lot of abuse at us. There were placards sayin things like "Israel Does Not speak for us" and my dad had a placard which said in yiddish "Zionism is the enemy of peace and justice.

ROTFLMAO!!! Somebody actually took the time to make that ridiculous sign? Wow, now that is true denial of the situation, that or ignorance.

i think counter-demos are a good idea, but i also don't think you can attack them for protesting - after all, they have as much right to freedom of speech as you do

By the way, my dad saw something really disturbing which was a kid with a che guevara t-shirt with a sticker saying "i stood up for israel" on it.

Q of D, i agree that everyone has the right to protest but we were not attacking their right to protest. we were just putting forward an opposite view to counter the view they were putting accorss
