Well RPG's is easy to come by in a country like Iraq. Plus they are cheap and can make alot of damage. In Somalia they shot down Black Hawks with them.
It seems RPG's and Ak 47 is the backbone of any resistence movement nowadays.

Dunno why but I seem to have some facination with this guy. I wouldn't like to live under his rule but I admire his courage in fighting the Americans.

I fail to see how these religious extremists are any better that the US imperialists..

As socialists we are not advocating they take Saddam or an American puppet governments place - but simply that they have a right to defend themselves from invading forces. While we do not support their beliefs, we support their struggle against imperialism. Only When Iraqi people get to choose their leaders can there be freedom in Iraq. Read what Tariq Ali has to say about religion in the middle east.

You can get an RPG 7 for $50 in russia i heard.
I think the reason they managed to shoot down the black hawks is cause in Mogadishu there were hundreds being fired into the sky. It has been reported that Iraq insurgents have infilcted damage with an RPG that only an RPG-22 can do though. Do you think there using AK-47's or AK-74's?

These people are Iraqi nationalists. They are fighting against a force which invaded and occupied their country. They want them out.

The Americans would fight against an invasion and occupation of their homeland. It is natural to fight back.

Shia and Sunni are fighting together against an occupation, just like they fought together in 1920. They want sovereignty.

Both probably, but when I look on the news all I see are Ak 47s, AK 74s have orange magazines and longer barrel's.

it seems that in that first picture they're using FN-FALs and G3 clones....i guess they're just using what ever they can get their hands on....and there is somthing kind of funny about Iraq and Black hawk down..... After Saddam saw that movie, he gave DVD's to all of his top leaders, he wanted stockpiles of small arms so they could do the same thing if the US tried to invade....i don't know if it's working that well though.

hmm it did work well in damaging $20 million dollars black hawks, they manged to get a lot of bullets into them which when they got back to camp where they then had to be repaired. It's pretty good if you think $20 dollar iron sight weapons causing tens of millions damage. But most of the one's that crashed are from disorientaion in the dust. It seems Iraq forces used cell phones to warn other people and thenthey put mossive amounts of small arms fire into the choppers from urban areas. Then of course the Americqans just used there bombers more when Iraq troops had shown themselves by firing at the choppers. I am curretly reading in the company of soldiers

yeah they are more or less using the Cheap russian made guns, from the Klashnekoff to the PK.

some lucky iraqi's may even be using M4's or M16 (they could even be attached with M203 Nade Launchers! ) that they would of snatched from dead American Soldiers! Hell! they might even have SA80's from dead brit soldiers

not forgetting them mortars, and possibly Petrol Bombs/ Molotov Cocktails.
A country filled with oil, its impossible for them not to be using petrol bombs!

its sort of like being a communist but going to a nazi parade, Although i am all for iraqi insurgence, i hope most of the americans get out alive, they are only pawns in a much larger chess game

Who is to say we are doing nothing? I am currently studying guerilla warfare, the communist manifesto and the Zapatista Army of National Liberation, Also I've got che Guevara's motorcycle diaies and Steinbeck's "wrath of the grpes" on the way. Being 16 I can't go fully active yet, but after college I aim to leave England and support socialism and struggles against imperialism, that my friend is action. It isn't all about having a gun and fighting all right-wingers.

I dont think i will. I've been a communist since i was 15 and my views have only gotten stronger and more communistic over the last three years. Not too bad for a former centre-right idiot who used to think a god created the Earth, eh?

im sure if we all get ' i hate capitalism' on our foreheads we will stay commited - but really it is something to thnk about - how many of us will stay commited throughout our whole lives to make change.

at one point i wanted a red star tattooed on my arm to remind me of my beliefs - but really that wouldnt make u believe something -
