i just saw this movie tonight with my folks, i have to say it was one of the best movies i've seen in a while. Zach Braff has proved himself as a writer and director. i wouldn't say the movie was flawless but the use of music, cinematography, lighting, and other techniques were just great. Zach wrote a wonderful script and great character developtment. Natalie Portman (the professional, beautiful girls, where the heart is- my favourites movies that she's in) and peter sarsgaard(was great in shattered glass) also gave great performances.

well andrew (zach braff) lives in LA trying to make it as an actor, he is very detatched from the world, which you see when he opens his medicine cabinet and it has just about every perscription drug, he's not close with his family but his dad calls saying that his mom drowned in the tub. he goes back home for the funeral and meets some old friends (peter sarsgaard and some other guy) they're grave diggers. mark(sarsgaard) invites andrew to a party, they smoke some pot, drop some x, drink and play spin the bottle.while at the doctor the next day because of these lighting like migranes he meets sam(natalie portman) they start chatting before andrew has to go in for a catscan. the doctor says he needs to get some therapy (someone other than his dad and get off the pills)
andrew starts to reexamine his life. he hasnt been home for 9 years, he has some serious issues to work out, and develops a relationship with sam. i teared up a few times in the movie, but then again i've been mood swinging the past week. i don't really want to say too much because the less you know about the movie the better it will hit you i think.

he played mark, andrew's friend. He was the one who collected all those odd things like the desert storm cards.

I saw it last weekend. Don't know why I've failed to comment on it untill now, but I loved it!
It was really a great movie. Great acting, great casting, great storyline. I fucking laughed my ass off when the alligator ate the little deer. Probably a little too much, in fact.
Really insightful symbolism having to do with his father, his psychiatric medication, his mother's death, his girlfriend, etc. It all ties in so well.
I highly recomend it.
