i just read a marvellously well done book on the Nazi blitzkrieg on Russia.
it was incredible how many Russian civilians died at the hands of Hitler's scum,
and he issued orders that made it quite clear what he thought of the Slavs of the U.S.S.R.

i think about 20 million at least must have died because of the Nazi's in Russia alone.
at any rate, the death toll was quite high, and much of it was made up by helpless women/children civillians.
many civilliansn died by starvation in the sage of St. Petersburg (Leningrad), or were killed cold-heartedly by Nazi's who afterwards faced no prosecution for war crimes.

in light of all this, i think it should be made more clear that the Jews, gays, etc. of europe were not the only ones who were killed by the thousands.

the russian suffered as bad or worse than a concentration camp, in their own homes.

The soviets lost far more people in both world WWI and WWII then any of the other nations. Many believe that the Allies won WWII because the US but Nazi Germany had more troops on their Easter front then they did fighting the US and England. The people of Soviet Union where extremely united in the defeat of the Nazis and they fought hard and lost more civilians and soldiers then the rest of the allies and axis combined.

the whole of europe is in debt to those russians who died and lived during the many battles against germany. they were really brave considering most werent properly equipped. some sources suggest they only had one rifle between 5 soldiers, and their tanks etc weren't anything like as good as the germans. much of their country was devastated, and at the end of the war it has been said that the only working mechanical vehicle left was a russian tank. their resistance was the most important thing behind the allied victory, since due to the russians holding on so long, it meant the other allies could prepare and attack on the west giving hitler the war on two fronts he had tried so hard to avoid and which he knew would prove his downfall, hence the fleeing to the bunker and the suicide like the cowardly dog he was.

It is obvious Hitler planned the mass extermination of Slavs, so this explains the high casualties in civilians. A quarter of Byelorussia’s population was exterminated by the SS scum. Belarus is the most extreme western province of the USSR so it clearly demonstrates what Hitler had planned for the remainder of the USSR if he won. 1/4 of the population in only three years of occupation...In Estonia and Latvia they have parades for their Waffen SS divisions.
