This is nothing to do with the guy in question in reality. He fell out of favour with the pentagon because they realised that they could accuse him with spying for Tehran. It just means that the U$ government has more reasons to be hostile towards Iran, and to remind their people about 'the axis of evil.'

Yeah, I know this is great, the guy gets paid millions by the DoD and the Bush administration to make claims about a place he hadn't been to in 20 years and is privied to sensitive information, which he then sells to Tehran for millions more.
