Most people who properly understand the economy think Bush is a moron. Note this is from The Economist, a leading free market supporter.

He is creating tarriffs, trade quotas and import tax - all protectionist methods which damage global free trade.
He is subsidising large business's in the US giving them an unfair advantage and stifling competition.
It is fairly certain that firms which support the republicans are getting special treatment, eg the contracts given to firms to rebuild Iraq. This again distorts the market, there may have been other firms which would have done the rebuilding for less, or at a better quality.
And on things such as gay rights and equal pay and employment for women and ethnic minorities, he is damaging the economy by not making the labour market as free and efficiant as it could be.

Yes I know. That's why I wanted to see some replies. I remember discussing this some months ago. Lucid (a former member) claimed that all the jobs proclaimed was being created, I on the other hand said it would be a jobless recovery, as it turned out. Now the big question must be what will happen with a incompetent president in charge. Profits are skyrocketing but almost no jobs are created. This obviously creates social instability. Possible to the extent were he can't use the empty phrases of "war against terror" and "creating democracy" to cover up his failures at home.

Yes, the near future will be interesting in seeing how much the Republican party can manipulate public opinion and control the media. Ie whether it can continue to stay popular despite its economic failings and the other unpopular policies it is implementing.
