Worried about this film because they say it's so "fair and balanced"
That tells me watch your ass.
Basically seems there are some "Heart of Darkness" Joseph Conrad scenes, for those of you unfamilar with the begining of the book "Heart of Darkness, "
(Great book both of Conrad's parents were executed, beheaded I believe, as politicos.)

Anyhoo, in the beg. the "hero" enters the French shipping company in Paris where everything is oh so lovely, nicey nice, have a cup of tea, of course all the luxuries in the office of the shipping magnate are created through mass murder which the protagonist latter sees in Africa.

The Corporation has similar scenes I've heard with the British head of Shell oil serving the protestors from Earth First on his front lawn tea and discussing life, so they decide he's not to blame it's "the company"

What a bunch of shit, he's in on making a profit thorough exploitation, who cares if it's out of his hands his hands are full of blood.

Other people watch this movie and see what you think

I thought it was really powerful. It was real long (and i was a bit tired) but that aside it was great. So many anti-globalization/anti imperialist type people on it; noah chomsky, naomi klein, vindivana shiva (prob spelt wrong... she is a fucken legend), mike moore ..etc. It was intresting to see them talking instead of reading what they usually say.

I thought it had intresting ways of showing the damage being done to the planet by capitalist industries and practices. the theatre I saw it in was huge and either sold out or very close to it. There was a massive round of applause at the end after the end piece by mike moore telling everyone to go out and do something about it after they leave the movie.

I'd like to see it again ( I saw it at a film festival ) my local library might be ordering a copy :) I think it is a good movie to show to people who arent necasarilly intrested in politics because it shows that regardless of your views and intrests there are massive questions that needs answers and solutions - there is so much at stake and in the end - we are all reponsible, we owe it to those who come after us - to leave this place in a better state than it is.

I recommend it - go see it !!!

I agree, I finally went and saw it of course Vendeva Shiva is amazing but so was the Bolivan water crisis, I didn't know about any of that in the fight over the privatization of water, especially that they won.

Great inspiration Cochabamba's conversation about not recognizing how powerful people can be was really inspirational.

Definately a must see!
It has been out a few years now in other countries eh, kept out of these parts due to the info about news no longer constitutionally needing to be fact based, the patent laws in US on life forms, and the info on RBST

I saw that film too. The part where that business guy said that he wanted to privatize every single inch of air, water, and earth on this planet was terrifying.

I wasn't aware of the privatization of Bolivia's water and the overturning of this through revolution amazing.
