This has been posted previously. But it is closer to the event so a repost may be warranted. This Saturday:
Special Event: Premier Documentary
Friday July 30, 2004:

In conjunction with Jesus Radicals' Anarchism and Christianity Conference

A Peace of Anarchy
This documentary is a quick summary of 20th century American radical activism with a notable focus on the christian pacifist anarchist Ammon Hennacy. Ammon is a prime example of the marginalized prophetic witness for peace and justice in the USA. Other activists appearing in the program also follow the radical (rooted/basic/simple) ideology and optimism that goodness will overcome evil, love is superior to hate and truth trumps falsehood.

2:00-3:30 pm Session 3: Prison Chaplaincy and Abolition
Elbon Kilpatrick, ordained minister of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), will talk about his experiences as a chaplain in the Federal Bureau of Prisons and why he chose to leave the occupation. He will come to tell us why even though he was teaching classes on the nonviolent gospel in prisons, it was not enough: he was led to resign his position entirely.

---------------

3:30-5:00 pm Session 4: Can the government or corporations be changed from within?
Terry Milne, who worked on the research staff of two federal Canadian government agencies and has served on several boards of directors, will talk about his experiences with high-level government and inside corporations. Terry will give us an example from the inside of why it is futile to seek change through our dominant government and corporate institutions.
