Want to know where the US stands on international treaties and UN resolutions? Here's a 25 point summary (http://www.zmag.org/content/ForeignPolicy/boffroguebig.cfm) that many may find useful. It's nice to have them all gathered together in one place.

EDIT: And, thank you, once again, Mr. On The Ball, otherwise known as Vox. I printed this, because I have been having this very argument with an amerikkkan up here for the summer. Next time I see him, wow, do I have some extra ammo now. I was focusing on the A-BM Treaty pullout, the Kyoto debacle, and now I have SO much more.

Yeah...mirror mirror on the wall

Hee! No problem. That's why I posted it. Many people have probably heard of most or all of these, but they're hard to recall all at once. This list is an easy reference and, taken together, shows pretty clearly how the US conducts itself internationally.

Yeah, I knew a little more than half, but many were new to me.

The U$ is such an image.

The guy I'm arguing with is in a rentable summer cottage down the street. I'll think he'll return to amerikkka a changed man, LOL... Well, at least I'll win this argument now. I guess I'll let him 'win' the softwood lumber dispute argument we're having so he doesn't feel too bad. He likes good beer though :) He still can't understand why I left the U$, he's so intrigued by that that I think that's the only reason we keep 'talking' (debating really).

Vox, you're the man! (woman! if I was wrong, sorry).

Does this come on handy wallet cards that can be pulled out whenever someone gives me crap for my beliefs? This one also helps my argument against Israel:
In 1986 the International Court of Justice (The Hague) ruled that the US was in violation of international law for "unlawful use of force" in Nicaragua, through its actions and those of its Contra proxy army. The US refused to recognize the Court's jurisdiction. A UN resolution calling for compliance with the Court's decision was approved 94-2 (US and Israel voting no).Anyway, this is very nice. Thanks.

In the original link Vox posted to ZNet, on #5 it said, "In April 2002 the ICC was scheduled to go into effect after being ratified by the required 60 nations; the Bush administration announced that it might 'unsign' the Treaty, something the United States has never before done."

And now they have: US Renounces Court Treaty (http://news.bbc.co.uk/hi/english/world/americas/newsid_1970000/1970312.stm)

This article said, "The US has vehemently opposed the setting up of the ICC, fearing its soldiers and diplomats could be brought before the court which will hear cases of war crimes and crimes against humanity."

Exactly. Nuf said. Can't let U$ criminals face justice can they? Oh I forgot, only non-amerikkkans are subject to international law.

Uhm, back to the BIGGEST ROGUE OF ALL idea, fucking U$...

Great site, thanks vox!

For further ammunition, look up more on the "Hague invasion act", which allows the U$A Congress to use military force to attack and temporarily occupy Holland while it releases any Americans being held by the International Criminal Court. Talk about being a rogue!

FoH,

Yep, I saw that. No surprise, really. Just look at the reaction to the World Court ruling against the US in 1986.

Dhul Fiqar,

From what I understand, the American Servicemember Protection Act (the "Hague Invasion Act") was defeated in the final vote.

Znet is indeed a great site. Ugly and not easy to navigate, but it has tons of info, a real case of substance over style.

Whoops, perhaps so. I just remember seeing an article about how it passed easily through the first vote, but I have no idea how the intricacies of Congre$$ work.

Anyway, it's sick that a proposition for invading a friendly nation like Holland got anywhere, it's probably the only western nation on earth that would have discussed such a thing, let alone voted for it.

I know this isnt really that relavent but it goes along the same lines of US ignorance and stupidity.

I went to the house of representatives site and saw confirmation of this. Sickening to say the least.
