Hi, I just wanted to intoduce myself to everyone. I'll be hanging out here asking questions to gain more knowledge about Che, Socialism, Marxism-Leninism, etc. I started getting interested about communism when I read about it in history class last year, then I went out and purchased "The Communist Manifesto." The first time reading it was a bit confusing though. I need to pick up some books on Che, any suggestions?

Welcome to che-lives!
We hope you enjoy your stay.
I would suggest reading his book 'Guerilla Warfare,' but there are loads of biographies about him. I would just recommend finding one that doesn't look like its written by someone who worships him, or a right-winger.

"The Communist Manifesto." The first time reading it was a bit confusing though.
Thats what I thought! As long as you can understand the 2nd chapter, I don't think it really matters.

Indeed, the Manifesto is a fairly complicated piece of literature.

For a piece by Friedrich Engels, Karl Marx's "partner in crime", that essentially "cuts the crap of Marxism", to use Redstar2000's words, see The Principles of Communism (http://www.marxists.org/archive/marx/works/1847/11/prin-com.htm), from marxists.org.

There's an online archive of Che's writings at the Che Guevara Archive (http://www.marxists.org/archive/guevara/index.htm), also from marxists.org.

For a biography on Che, I suggest Che Guevara - A Revolutionary Life by Jon Lee Anderson. It's a bit thick, but very well written with pretty pictures in the middle.

And for a biography of Me I suggest America's Dumbest Criminals. I'm a bit thick.

There's nothing wrong with n00bs...only with people who blame them for things they don't/didn't do.
