At least you get a large number of people in Britain. The one's in Ireland attract about 200 people and that's it but I think this year, they're holding a march at about 6pm so that people don't have to skip work and school.

Yeah, its even smaller in Canada. I fully intend on celebrating, though, and maybe organizing something like a march! My exams are all done! (well, on the 30th hurrah!)

I have a few Pagan friends, and they always throw a Beltane/May Day party, with Maypole and all. Lots of fun. It seemed like a big deal in England when I was there.

Here in New York we always have a big Beltane festival in Central Park. Usually with hundereds of people.

My parents have given me the opportunity to take the day offf school though this is a bad time to be missing lessons.

Personally, however , I think we should be allowed the day off for mayday. People are allowed days offf if they are i,portant to their religious beliefs, yet no allowances are made for the most important day with regard to our secular beliefs.
