Not far from where I live, there is a store owned by Ukrainain immigrants called Soyuz. This store carries nothing but communist and Soviet paraphanilia (flags, pins, miltary patches, posters, t-shirts and even videos on the history of the USSR)

At first I thought this place was pretty cool, however, is a communist store about promoting communism, or is it about capitilizing from trying to hawk communist and Soviet paraphanilia at people as items of popular culture, much like people are doing with Che's image?

Depends, how many people work there? Do they have a boss or do they share the profits equally?

I doubt they would. This store may not even be a pro communist store their probaly just a history store on the USSR.

The Ukrainians are probabaly trying to get rid of unwanted reminders and if they can trun a profit all the better - there's a big market for this kind of exotic paraphenalia amongst the affluent western youth.

Everyone has to make a living somehow; that may have simply been the best thing they could think of.

Likely they are selling it for pop culture purposes and for profit, mostly to rich capitalist kids who want stuff with red stars on it.

After they go there they'll proceed to McDonalds for a # 3 (Super-Sized), then to Wal-Mart for cheap plastic crap to match their novelty regime merchandise.

You forgot the part after going to Wal-Mart they go to CompUSA buy a brand new computer and go online and fight the good fight for the working man!

A couple of hundred years ago would you have said the same thing about printing presses? The printing press never helped the working man either right?

What are you doing with your computer besides posting drivel like this? Oh, that's right, I forget you're a super political activist, even though you're not old enough to vote and aren't a legalized citizen yet, so you couldn't vote anyway. But somehow, with your super soon to be state college intellect, you've decided that only you can speak for the working man and the oppressed, even though you've probably never really worked in anything other than little afterschool part time jobs, never protested for anything, never paid taxes, never paid for your healthcare, never had to figure out how to feed kids, pay for a car, pay rent, pay for food and clothes....

Please favor us. What exactly have you done for the working man? How do you relate to the working man?

Its run by a single family, there are 4 people who work there aside from the parents, there is a rather good looking daughter, who I talked to the last time I was there. She is 20 and has a brother, who also works there, who is 17, the father manages the shop.

with your super soon to be state college intellect,

boy, don't we sound rather elitist? And this is coming from a pinko socialist bastage! Don't kids of "little guys" attend state colleges? I thought people like you fought for the "little guy"?

Wrong.

He most certainly was our old friend little bill.

Do you even know whom I'm talking about?

Or are you just going to follow me around to other threads and say the exact opposite of me since I had the "nerve" to call you on your misguided support of a known capitalist and racist?

Sell it somewhere else esse, I ain't buying.

I went to a state college, so your attempt at creating a contradiction in my ideology is worthless.

The statement was used to impugn his obvious arrogance and superiority complex with regards to other posters on this board.

For your edification, I'm not a pinko, I'm full red. I am however a bastard.

Good God, our archnemesis Little Bill still stalks these forums?

Does he have so little a life that he is still trying to "infiltrate" us?

Oh, I remember his very first post. Such a flurry of idiocy.

Danton... he started the post with a quote from Jacobo Arbenz... I think it can be safely assumed that he was replying to him, and not randomly attacking you.

I'm suggesting that he refers to me when he says JA supported a known capitalist and racist - both lies.

That'd be Y2A he's talking about. JA & RAF have got a bit of a grudge going over the whole 'wigger' incident.
