are the people politically illiterate?
i cant understand!here the people are not very much litrate politically;they speak about politics during elections / events and leave them.
the people doesnt really know what communism is? and how it would be helpful to them?
they see the impractical temporary uses of capitalism and rush towards it.
people like to have more and more money and like to own something permanently and even generation after ganerations.
they expect their children to be great ...and just inject the feeling of opressing others, that is being first ao greater than others. this makes the things worser.they try to oppress others and when they grow elder many of them rewind the whole thing, that is inculcting the ideas of oppressing to their children......and this continues for several generations creating a kind of fear in people towards communism....and they try to just be happy.

You are right!
We need to end this cycle of ignorance and prejudice.
Most people arn't that resistant, they just need substancial exposure to these issues and of course our societys as they are, mostly muffle theses political ideas.
People try to "adapt" to capitalism (though you can't generaly) because they are told to "succeed" by that method.

It's called propaganda.
In a centre-right rule country, apathy wins elections for the rulers. So long as people don't know the wrongs that are being committed and as long as the occasional concession is made for them (i.e. an added worker right here and there) then people get the impression that they are happy.
I don't think it is the fault of the people. They are smokescreened from reality.

yes,
the people are themselves responsible for their condition.....
they should not wait for liberators and they have to liberate themselves

exactly, people are almost brainwashed into believing, liking, or agreeing with something. Properganda is used in such high quantitys its impossible to escape it, and it just becomes a way of life, people accept it, and many people agree with it, because its impressed so powerfully.
i suppose many people arent probably intelligent enough to doubt the media, either that, or they have been raised in a way that they just dont care what happens politcaly speaking

Do not insult the intelligence of the people Rahul. The people are the most powerful weapon and it is not any fault of theirs that they are smokescreened from reality.
Anyone who insults the intelligence of the people is not Socialist at all.

I think it's a combination of a couple things. I work daily in the poorest district in Washington state (USA). It's full of working class people.
None of them vote. None of them belong to unions. None of them do much of anything. When I go out and try to organize these folks, they look at me like a traitor (which, in a lot of ways I guess I am). They KNOW that most of these guys running for office aren't going to do anything for them. The only contact they've had with the government is through the Police Dept. Basically, they don't see anyway to do anything about it. They don't know how to fight. They don't have any hope.
The people who are doing ok (and there are less of them here every year) are the ones that drive me crazy. They buy into all this "America the land of the free" nonsense, pat themselves on the back, buy a bunch of crap from Wal Mart and then wonder why their government is paid off, why their kids are killing and dying in the desert, and why their pensions are gone.
People are so disgusted with everything or so manipulated by their Bosses, the media, or some politician, they forgot how to fight. They just fuckin' forgot.

mistake is mistake any 1 might have committed.
if people really try to liberate, or if they want a better situation than this they should work in those lines.

People all over the world are very politically illiterate, which is why it is our job to educate them.

the best thing that anyone could do would be to destroy all satelites, and broadcasting channels, kill the television for it has single handedly brainwashed the masses into utter idiots, ignorant of education, literature, and of course politics.
If television were destoyed people would start to pick up books and begin to read again, only to discover a whole new world, and why the world is the way it is today!
you should all be very thankfull that you found your own ways to this community, were we can all escape the everyday propoganda and yes, read between the lines.

T.V. can be pretty useful too. But, like most things left up to individuals, it's corrupt. You can find stations that are "accountable" though, and who show serious programs. I saw the live footage from the Shiite revolt in Iraq in the first Gulf War, and that changed me a lot. 2 minutes of video changed my whole perspective.

Many people are politically illterate and literate alike. It also depends on the type of environment they're in, whether or not they want to be informed on the issues that the proletariat face on a daily basis, etc. What people here on television can also play a role, especially if the person watches nothing but Fox News, CNN, and all these other corporate news media outlets, which are the propaganda arms of the bourgeoise, which have done an outrageouse job in decepting everyone from what really goes on.
People must go beyond what they're being told my the media, as well as any other form of propaganda, and seek the truth for themselves. That's the only way they'll become fully politically literate and see the truth.
