Call to Action: Election Rally for IWW Starbucks Union

Starbucks workers at the 36th and Madison location in Midtown Manhattan are set to vote in a union certification election, the first at the chain in the United States. The workers are attempting to rise out of poverty and create a decent workplace. Starbucks, in an unconscionable affront to the dignity of labor, is pulling out all the stops to defeat the workers.

Please take a stand to show the workers they are not alone:

Good work, comrade, this is heartening to see.

I would like to know if there is any effort underway to promote a boycott campaign? I would very much be willing to sign a petition or a form letter denoucing their union busting.

Also please keep us informed about these developments!

There's no boycott effort at the moment. For some ideas on how you can take action, check out this website:

Yeah... I really wanted to go to that but sadly I'll be at the protests in Boston. I wish them all the luck, this will be a big victory for the IWW if our fellow workers pull it off. :)
