Concentration Camps Invented By British - Anybody know anthi

We were talking about the Boar War today and our teacher told us that a British General invented the Concentration Camp, he captured a load of women and children and he tortured them slowly, let some go to tell the story to the others and these camps were located in wide open areas so the ppl who were let go would tell the men of the surrounding areas and these men would march to the camps and then the heavy british machine guns would come into play,

i heard smothing about them first using concentration camps in the Phillipines

it was the boer war.The British would try and destroy the Boer faction by going to the towns or whatever that supported them and take the people away to a camp so they couldn't practically support the Boer's.Needless to say many of the fighter's families were taken away.I never heard of them being to trap the boers but more so to destroy their support network.Though the camps were concentration and not death camps
