The state of Turkey has been trying for years to suppress the people's
struggle in Turkey with blood, torture, massacres and disappearances of
people held in detention. Up to the present, the state of Turkey has not
been able to achieve this aim. And even with torture and massacres, even
through illegal executions of thousands of people, it couldn't succeed.
European institutions and the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) know the
truth of this very well.
The state of Turkey, which couldn't achieve its goal with massacres, has
seen the solution in recent years as one of banning the DHKP-C in European
countries. Therefore the state of Turkey is openly menacing European
countries. Whenever it meets any European in a responsible position, for
whatever reason, it repeats the same refrain, "Ban the DHKP-C...".
Although the whole of Europe and the world know the real face of the state
of Turkey, Europe is giving green light to the state there, as a result of
economic interests and political pressure from the USA.
WELL, WHAT'S GOING TO HAPPEN IF IT IS BANNED?
----------------------------------------------------------------
This question can also be answered by turning it around. What are we doing
today in countries where we are not banned? In countries in which we are not
banned, we are trying with all our strength to inform the public about the
situation in our country, about human rights violations and the violations
of democratic rights.
In our country peoples are burned alive in the prisons, all the police
stations in our country have been turned into torture centres, people are
systematically oppressed in these torture centres and confronted with rape,
threats and assaults. We inform the public about these events and try to
make people sensitive. In our country there exists state terror. The state
can't survive without terror. It doesn't even do it in secret. For example,
even when people go out onto the streets for the sake of basic rights, they
are nearly beaten to death with truncheons, they are crushed by armoured
cars, or are targeted by bullets, and if they are captured alive, they are
subjected to torture. That's what we try to explain to people.
A ban on us would mean covering up these crimes against humanity. It would
mean silencing here the voice of our people who are suffering state terror.
It would make it even easier for crimes against humanity to be committed. Is
that what Europe wants? That the people there should be tortured, but nobody
here should speak about it; that the people there should be burned alive,
but nobody should raise his/her voice; does it want the state of Turkey to
violate international law, but nobody here should say anything?
WHAT HAPPENS IF WE ARE BANNED?
----------------------------------------------
Let's give our answer; we're going to continue the same work. This is our
most natural and basic right. While some of our people there are being
killed and tortured, we can't say, "here it is forbidden to oppose torture,
so let's be silent."
We know very well: everywhere where there are human beings, intellect can
also be found. We are appealing to this intellect in every situation. Will
jail be the price for saying that torture exists in Turkey or that this or
that person was killed under torture? Well then, we are even ready to pay
this price.
To whom and how are the governments who are to ban us going to explain their
shame in defending torturers, legitimising massacres, ignoring inhumane
practices and failing to react against terror. Whom are they going to
deceive with demagogy like "these organisations are practising terror in
their own countries, that's why we ban them. We are against terrorism"?
Does this mean to be against terror, is this the way to go against terror,
so what is terror? Are torture, massacre and bans on democratic rights not
terror? If that is terror, the state of Turkey is practising it. So, if you
are against terror, then go and ban the state of Turkey. The state of Turkey
has come onto your territory with its institutions such as consulates,
legations and embassies. Come and ban it, "your state is applying terror in
Turkey, look at how my courts, the ECHR, have sentenced you several times
for the crimes of humanity your state had carried out," well, the crime of
the state of Turkey was proved in the European Courts themselves. What else?
There is still the question of applying its own laws. And this means to cut
off any kind of diplomatic relations with the state of Turkey, and to apply
sanctions by all legal means.
Europe, go and apply your own laws. Can you practise your own laws in spite
of the USA?
There's more. In today's parliament in Turkey, there are dozens of civilian
fascist murderers. They were judged and sentenced even according to the laws
of Turkey for murder. And these murderers are making laws, with these laws
they apply terror against our people. This terror is practiced deliberately
and systematically by an organised hierarchy. So Europe, come and apply your
laws. Include the state of Turkey in the list of terrorist countries. Or is
it not just your laws but also your intellect that have broken down? Or are
neither your laws nor your intellect effective, when you turn on the green
light to ban us during bilateral conversations with Turkey?
Starting with Germany, some European countries see us as a danger to their
own internal and external interests. As if we would disrupt their security
inside or outside their country. That would make even a horse laugh.
First of all we do not wish to be such a danger, or, better expressed, what
has that to do with the internal and external security of your countries, if
we reveal torture, murder and rape? Or is your internal and external
security dependent on the torturers and murderers in Turkey being able to
continue?
WE CALL ON ALL EUROPEANS: DON'T KEEP WATCHING SILENTLY WHEN YOUR STATES ARE
MAKING YOU ACCOMPLICES TO TORTURE AND MURDER AND STULTIFYING YOUR MINDS,
WHILE THE PEOPLE OF TURKEY ARE BEING DESTROYED WITH REPRESSION AND TERROR.
