I am sure that you have probably heard about all of the crazy stuff thats happening in France, right? What with the elections, and riots, and all; and this Le Pen guy being one of the final contenders in the running.
Le Pen plans to withdraw France from Europe and re-install the death penalty...along with some other extreme actions...what do you guys think about it? Is France on the pathway to civil unrest and disaster? Or might this be a good thing?

Yeah, I think no-one was mpore shocked or horrified by the results than the general French population. Remember, only about 30% of those eligable voted, there was a campaign to stay away from the polls as a protest to the lack of choice in policies. I have a feeling a lot of people will turn out to put Chirac back in office, which is actually sad in a way, but a hell of a lot better than the alternative.
The only possible thing right-wing candidates in Europe having going for them is their opposition to Israel, but since it's just because of general racism that's not really something you can legitimately write up in the "pro" column.

I think La Pen is a mad Nazi!!!
He wants to get inmigrants out of the country and wants to close muslim chuches in france (which are around 800).
I hope he doesnt get anywhere moreover he is imprisoned.

Mosques.
I have a question because I really have no idea whatsoever. Why are there so many people of Arab background in France anyway? Does the fact that the French at one time had so much power in areas of Northern Africa affect this?

Most of the arabs that r in france r from africa ... like algeria , morocco , lybia etc.
coz first of all its very close , they find good job opportunities there ... and mainly becoz these countries were once under the french occupation ....the 2nd language in these countries is french .... so ppl find france more fimiliar .

Most people in France remember Nazi Germany and they wouldn't let the fascist to govern their country.
I also think that all those people who have voted for La Pen, have realized their mistake and wouldn't vote for him in the second round of the elections.
La Pen 12% of total votes- that is my prophecy. He is total failure.
