I had read about the Weather Underground before, the militant, revolutionary group that split off from the Students for A Democratic Society in the late 60's and engaged in a series of bombings on selected political targets and robbed various banks, amongst other things, throughout the entire 70's and up untill the early 80's.
The group was disenfranchised with the non-violent movement, citing that it really did nothing to change anything and decided that they had to resort to more drastic measures in order to bring about a revolution in the US.
This documentry on them features recent interviews with former WU members and traces the groups history and cause. It was up nominated for Best Documentry at this year's academy awards and really was quite good. I picked it up a my local Blockbuster, so its not hard to find, go out and rent it.
