Next monday me and a selft few fellow classmates will be participating in a doalogue on freedom as its called with supreme court justice kennedy. also in attendence will be sennator ted kennedy and some media.
i would like some the board's opions on the topics being discussed. help me out a little, so that i may remember important points and not come out like a total ass-kisser and agree with everything everyone else says. here are some of the topics being discussed, its pretty much about people in the 3rd world
1. what is wrong with less developed countries is the influece of american culture. american culture is decadent and it has led to the curruption to life in the west and shoud not spread to the 3rd world. what would you say to someone who belives in a movement which resits american culture.
2. suppose a leader of a country had close to absolute aithority. a female says she supports this lader even though his government gives women a subordinate role in society, but she doesnt mind until conditions improve. she says that the leader promises to make things better and democracy is not worth pursuing. what would you tell her?
3. a 15 yr. old works hard for only $10 a week for his family. he asks why should he care about 9/11? how would you respond
4.if you could leave 3 books and 3 movies with the people of the 3rd world what would they be?
