Can the admins open Chit chat to restricted members? I am seeing a lot of chit chat threads being posted by restricted members in OI, and I don't see what harm it would cause to have restricted people posting in chit chat. Maybe they can disrupt political conversations, but in a non-politcal discussion, I think most people who are restricted would be harmless.

I am for allowing restricted members into chit chat. You have my support.

Mine too, there's really no reason why restricted members n't be allowed to post in chit chat. Bring Elijah Craig back!

I don't think that restricted members should automatically have access to the Chit-Chat forum. I wouldn't want people like revolutionindia posting in there. Some people are just disruptive.
In my opinion, restricted members who have proved themselves to be polite and useful should be given a "semi-restricted" status, where they have access to all forums under the "Fun" and "Cultural" groupings.

Maybe science and enviroment could be opened up too. Just because a person is right-wing doesn't make them incapable of scientific thought. Don't people who are really disruptive to a conversation usually get banned anyways?

I'm against chit-chat being opened up to restricted members. Right wingers shouldn't even be on this site, it would be like putting leeches in a public swimming pool.

Right wingers already have much more freedom than a leftist or dissident would on a right wing forum, they should be happy with what they have or leave. And since they are not known for leaving places where they are not wanted they should at least work on appreciating what they have.

I wouldn't be opposed to opening up Science to a "semi-restricted" group, however your second assertion is false. It takes a lot to get banned from Che-Lives these days.

YES for Science & Tech.
No for Chit Chat, the reason is that they might go jamming the board if there are leftist chit chat topics. "Chit Chat" is for chit chat for the "comrades" of the board.

I'd certainly support Chit Chat access for Restricted Members.
Science and Technology would be fine too.

Semi-restriction is a good idea! But I think semi-restricted members should have access to 'politics' or 'philosophy' as well, and they should only be banned from the typically leftist rooms like 'practice'. Having semi-restriction would only mean that the person is capable of debating in a normal way and is not demoralizing, and the only cause he's not let in the other rooms is he's not a leftist! And restricted members would only be allowed in OI, of course.
