I was wondering if someone could give me a list to which books to get on Materialism.

Henry David Thoreau. He wrote "Walden Pond" and "Civil Disobedience". The former would be an excellent read. The latter is even better, but does not deal so much with materialism. Most likely you can find them together (as in one book) in any used bookstore.
