Ok, so i havent posted here for a while, primarily becuase ive been so active but shcool had something to do with it (as ever) as well. Anyway marxism2004.
This event is great. Its a socialist festival and conference in centeral london. We hire out the entire UCL in euston for a week and it never fails to attract thousands of trots (and occasionaly others) from all over the world. Its set up by the SWP's international, the International Socialist Tendancy.
It's been great this year and theres still 3 more days to go! Speakers like Tony Benn, Waldon Bellow, Mark Serwotka etc all help to make this a brilliant event. The entertainment is also top quality with live bands in the evening and also relevant films shown in the uni's film theatre, and of course the booze is dirt cheap :). Those who live near come down and check it out.
The Socialist Party have there own "Socialism2004" but it is barely a dot on marxism. Usually a 5 men and a dog affair, they never get good speakers and the atmosphere of marxism is just not there. Infact I bet they get better audiences when they disrupt our meetings at marxism!
