Read Quotations from the Chairman Mao Zedong. There are also many other good things by Mao here:

1984 is anti-communist propaganda and Chomsky is a bourgeois pseudo-intellectual.

I can't stand George Orwell worship, he was an idiot.
Can someone tell me what was so great about 1984? It hardly contains any great political understanding, I think people just harp on about it to "prove" how anti-totalitarian they are.
As for this mini-library, I would include something a little more intellectual that Lenin. The German Ideology and Das Kapital are essential reading if you ant to understand Marxism.

Little Women was a good book. :) Yes, wasn't it written by lonely little men  I'm sorry, I couldn't resist. Is it a good book?
I am getting the equivelent to "the great books of the western world" also.
G.Orwell man 1984 its a badass book I have animal farm, but I don't think I am getting 1984. It was a good book though...

Chomsky isn't too bad. As redstar2000 put it he's "an icon of the American 'left' [...] icons always let you down".
I want more on Marxism though!

I liked it for some of the ideas whch are presented in it, and how the relate to societies today.
The need for an enemy - (Goldstein/bin Laden).
The need for war - both to drum up money, for scarmongering and to aid the sustainability of a power base.
Meaningless slogans to grasp people's emotions.
The essay on Newspeak was also facinating, as were the tracts from "The Book" which the protaganist read.

Aren't you the guy who hates Jews?
Anyways, after you get all your Marx books, and after you read every single one of them, get The Zapatista Reader. Go to your local library or whatever and look it up. They should have it.
