Marx said that before communism, there needs to be full development of capitalism.
And we've gone through the industrial revolution marx was talking about, right?
But he also said that it involves the 2 distinct classes of proletariat & bourgeoisie. A lot of people say there are more than just 2 classes.
Would that mean capitalism isn't fully developed in America yet?

Maybe not, but it definately seems to be coming to an end. By the 2020s US government spends on public services will reach European levels. (The economist magazine said that US public spending is going up pernmantly) That could be a sign that capitalism is ending.

"2 distinct classes of proletariat & bourgeoisie. A lot of people say there are more than just 2 classes."

there are more classes like the petty bourgeosie and some sub class of the proletariat which i can't think of their name right now.

the capitalism that marx was talking about did die in 1929, the revolution didnt come because the bourgeoisie used the state to pump money into the economy wich stoped it from falling even further then it was already. so now capitalism is livening on just in a different form. though like New Tolerance said increased government debt and low corporate tax is leading to an end of this form of capitalism the question is can we kill it off for ever at that point?

The kind of economics being used now are called Keynesian economics - there are Marxists economists who have written about it and how it will collapse – but that’s not hard to work out for yourself if you read even half a page on Keynesian.

We are in a post-capitalist age in which we dont really have any relation to say the commodity as such, we've had that replaced in the EU, US etc by signs and 'lifestyles' so it does seem that capitalism as talked about in Marx's time is indeed dead.

Capitalism has never been fully developed in this country, but I think the U.S was far more Capitalist in the early 1900's than it is now. I mean, look what we've got these days, unemployment benefits, welfare, the 8 hour day, minimum wage, all Socialist policies. America is a long way from the Socialist state we want it to be, but it has gotten at least a little better. However, keep in mind that the ruling class has only given these concessions to keep their system afloat. They didn't do it for us, they did it to keep us pacified for that much longer.

No, America is not pure Captialism, pure Capitalism could never be acheived, ever. It just could not happen without people rising up (at least that is what I believe).
