A Lebanese born U.S. Marine, Corporal Wassef Ali Hassoun, who went missing in Iraq is now safe in the U.S. embassy in Beirut (I hope I don't have to tell you where that is).

At one point he was reported to have been killed by his captors, who said they had beheaded him.

Personally, I have mixed feelings about this guy. I guess I'm happy that he didn't get beheaded, and surprised too, being an Arab in the U.S. Army. I know that there are different reasons why people join the military, but I could still understand why many Arabs might consider him a traitor. Especially because of America's annual 3 billion dollars in aid to Israel, and the American bombing of Beirut during the Israeli invasion of Lebanon. Oh the mixed feelings..
