Are you sure it's a LABOUR Party. I swear to God I thought it was the 'alternative' Conservative Party. Personally, I believe the liberal democrats are the way forward for the UK.

As i heard the labour party(the party of tony blair you mean) isn't really for the labours. On a cover of the Economist, there was image you could see the face of tony blair with the hair of margret(margret was her name wasn't it?) thatcher.

I think that they're just as conservative and right-wing as the Tories now.

Im going to agree, but give credit where credit is due. For two years in a row now Gordon Brown has given a semi-decent budget, not amazing of course, but still not bad, and a few of the back benchers are a little left-wing. Its just that the core team (Blunket, Straw, Blair, etc) are just Tories and they have pushed the party a lot more right-wing.

I believe the liberal democrats are the way forward for the UK.
Only when politics stops being a two party system, and the media take them seriously, will the Lib Dems stand any chance of winning a decent number of seats.

Zippy.

The labour party in this strip of land, we call Britain is Bull. They are basically the Conservatives with a new name and colour. Especially now that business men can "buy" favours. I'm not joking, Tony gives favours to big guys who donate money...and recently backed right wingers in some country...don;t know much bout it tho.

Give the guy some credit
THe budget 2day was pretty good,
loads of spending on Health
Even Though Blair has not been anti-USA, he hasnt been pro-usa by actions, a few token soldiers, thats all, no big deal.
Labour done loads for poorest, just coz they helped the capitalist ****s doesnt mean they arent labour.
We should encourage them, and make them more left

comrade kamo

Well, while the current administration seems more on the moderate lines... I think as a whole the Labour party has been allot more progressive, and successful than our Democratic Party.

You have a great deal of social programs in the UK, and I don't think it's the Tories who are responsible for that.

Oh and as far as Blair and Bush... as Kamo said he might not be exactly anti-usa, however he's not in exactly in support of the Bush administration either.

Kamo,Tony Benn retired so that he could concentrate on politics.Doesn't that tell you something?
They're selling us out to big business, slowly but surely.

Don't look into Blairs eyes,resist,resist!

I beg to differ. Bush has been sending the Blair round the world doing his dirty work. 10,000 marines in Afghanistan, complete and unilateral support for the proposed attacks on Iraq. And we haven't even been attacked.

The budget was a slight improvement. However, I don't think cash is the problem in the NHS, I think it's more a case of mismanagement. There's only so far you can get just injecting cash, you need people who know how to spend it as well...

And the government is centre-right. Why do you think the Tories don't have a foot to stand on?? Blair's nicked all their fucking policies!!
