Here's an article from CounterPunch (http://www.counterpunch.org/blumcasualties.html) by William Blum that discusses civilian deaths in Afghanistan. It also links to Prof. Marc Herold's website (http://www.cursor.org/stories/civilian_deaths.htm), which goes in to a lot of detail.
Hope it helps,

Lot's of resources for deaths in the 20th Century and some other centuries.
Or try Rudolph J Rummel's site http://www.hawaii.edu/powerkills
