OK, I've had it!
Those Zionist pigs just arrested Marwan Barghouti, claiming he was a leader of a militant wing of Fateh. In actual fact (actual fact being something they choose to ignore 99% of the time), he is the leader of the main negotiation and co-operation wing of PLO, one of the few institutions that has advocated any kind of contact with the Israeli side.
But that's not all. His brother, who is a medical doctor and head of the Palestinian Health, Development, Information and Policy Institute, is probably the only Palestinian I've ever met who advocates a 100% non-military solution to the conflict. His concerns are for ambulances to get to the wounded, and he spends much of his time trying to create a groundwork for peace in an indipendent Palestine. He also happens to be a good friend of some people I know, and I met with him a few weeks ago and was deeply impressed by his attitude and courage in the face of overwhelming adveristy and calls for bloodshed.
Now they say Marwan, his brother, is leader of a "resistance" movement because he didn't agree with their military incursions into Palestinian territory, and as a Fateh leader send out the call to his people that they were under no obligation to co-operate with the rape of their homeland. This makes him a target for torture, arrest without legal representation as well as humiliation. All of this is in BLATANT violation of a number of significant international agreements, Israel actually defends torture as an official policy of their secret service, Mossad.
This treatment of Mr. Barghouti will only serve to anger his family, friends and companions who are just about the only people I can think of that would ever advocate making peace with a war criminal like Sharon, although they would certainly not do so before a complete withdrawal from 'Area A'.
It has become obvious that Israel is systimatically dismantling any chance for peace, any chance for Arafat to maintain security in and around Palestine and will do anything to turn the Palestinian peacemakers away from the path of negotiation.
But why? Well, if you've been to Israel you know why. The secular and hassidic jews hate each other almost as much as they hate the Arabs, and without a foe in Arafat or the Palestinian people, they would be torn apart as a nation. Orthodox jews even stone secular's cars if they dare drive on the Sabbath, sometimes causing serious accidents, they storm cafes an hour before the beginning of the Sabbath and throw food off tables, poor coffee and beer on the street and physically engage anyone that won't leave. These people need something to push them together, that something is Arafat and Palestine.
Oh, and let's not forget the 15 million dollars they get from the US every DAY, at worst it reached 6$ Billion every year. The US has given more aid to Israel (population just over 6 million) than to all of sub-sahara Africa, Latin America, and the Caribbean put together (1.1 BILLION people). Those areas are among the most poor in the world, Israel has a prosperous economy on it's own and a laughably smaller population.
Without a need for self-defense, they might actually have to make some more money for themselves, and, god forbid, maybe take up trade with the "filthy" Arabs around them! Oh, no, they can't have that...
So I say, fine, they want, need and make war. Long live those who take up the call to fight against them, long live justice and freedom!
FREE Barghouti, FREE Palestine, FREE all the prisoners being tortured by Mossad!!!
