Hey just back from Glastonbury last Monday and wondered if anyone else went there? What did you think etc...

Brief summary for those not there as describing the feeling is not possible

was it good? yes
was it muddy? yes
Were oasis good? no
Is James Brown still the godfather of soul? yes

I was there, caked in mud and enjoying everyminute of it...
Paul McCartney was my particular highlight, not 'past it' despite what the critics say. Oasis on the otherhand...
Muse were superb as a live band. It's refreshing to see a modern band who are content just to enjoy themselves on stage rather than trying to be all moody and pretencious...
James Brown was just strange (in a good way) he didn't come on untill at least 20 minutes into his set for God's sake...

I went. Friday was by far the best day.

I saw most of, all of, or parts of:-

Oasis
Black Eyed Peas
Mccartney
The Killers
The Zutons
Snow Patrol
Franz Ferdinand
Kings of Leon
Ben Harper
Nelly Furtado
Gomez
Kasabian
English National Opera
Lost Prophets
Supergrass
James Brown
Morrissey

I also saw Naomi Klein and Avi Lewis in the Leftfield and their new documentary, The Take. Good stuff.

James Brown supported RHCP when I saw them the other week. Admittedly soul's not my thing, but even so, he was totally uninspiring.

I don't know any other 71year olds with so much... whatever he has. If you refer to his music it is virtually perfect. His band gets fined for every bad note. Fascist, but the tunes are funky :)
