You're not really giving enough information about the picture that you post. Is it meant to lampoon capitaism or socialism? Or was it a real Soviet product?

From what I can tell, the Russian written on the bottom says "Tovarishi Znaki" or something like that. "Tovarish" means "Comrade," but I don't know the other word.

Can't tell if it's a real product or not.

It looks real to me. Probably just trying to show the irony.

I found the picture in a website that sells all sort of soviet stuff. Shirts, SODA, watches and so on. Iam pretty sure it is real.

Sorry, but the text says 'Tovarniye Znaki' meaning 'trade-mark'. It is really close to 'tovarishchi' though...

Heh, I didn't know what the "bl" symbol meant. I only have a very limited knowledge of Russian.

funny comment, the soviets decided to change the Cola to a Kola so the people wouldnt say SoSa Sola
cause there C makes a S sound
in Ukraine they still use the C
so everyone says Sosa Sola

Could you link the site? It sounds a bit like an American company trying to make money either by exploiting the market for merchendise or by simply lampooning it.

Its probably Coke from the 80s when American companies could invest inside the Soviet Union.

But why would "soviet union" be written in english?

So that soviets would get the feel of something exotic and foreign. Remember, this is Coca-Cola, the grandmaster of advertisement.

Didn't Brezhnev also introduce Pepsi in the USSR in the 1970's?

Just another reason to hate the Khruschovite-Brezhnevite capitalist-roaders.

That just goes to show how much the USA wants to "Americanize" every other country, USSR, Vietnam, Canada, etc, etc.

I'm Canadian, and Trust me..we are the most Americanized country to date :(

Don't BUY COKE!, by from a local store, and I even hear tap water is free too! :)

Coke is an American brand, but Cola itself is generic. I just buy generic cola ^_^

It's the same when I buy other sodas like orange soda, I always prefer generic to the brand names.
