Anyone here about Bush not giving a bunch of natives of a pacific island there island back because he wants to keep his military base there, even after an international court decreed that the land should be given back to them.

People really should research these things before they talk about them. I believe you are referring to Diego Garcia, an island in the Indian Ocean. The inhabitans, known as the Ilois, were basically driven out in the late 60's and early 70's by the British, and most fled to Mauritius or Seychelles. For years the island was used by the British as a military base, and has since been turned over to the U.S., which it has used as a base against Iraq in the first Gulf War, Operation Desert Fox, and the current terrorist war. It was also used as a base to launch bomber attacks against Afghanistan during the U.S.' war on that country. British courts have revived this issue, and the Ilois have since attempted to sue the British government. And as has been said, the U.S. quietly refuses to give up this island as a military base, as well as rejects the right of any of the indigenous peoples to return.

By the way, I refuse to give a link, if anyone is actually interested in investigating this, just type in 'Diego Garcia' in whatever search engine you use, the information is not hard to find.

.... By the way, just in case your curious, there is a Pacific country who has had natives lose much of their land thanks to the U.S., namely the Philippines. In the Philippines the Negrito ethnic group have similarly lost most of their land to U.S. military bases. In case you don't know who Negritos are, they're a short, hairy, black-skinned people, who were the first people of Southeast Asia. It's possible it could be these people who you may have heard about, although I doubt it.

just for anyone's interested ALL OF NORTH AMERICA has been taken from Aboriginal peoples to be used for every possible purpose, including military bases!
