I've used endless time on a forum (well, about three hours) to explain to ordinary Americans what communism is and how it works, and why capitalism is bad. I'm not superman when it comes to theory, so I tried to post a few articles etc. and then try to explain...

This is what I get in response:


No you do need investore in a society for it to work, you just have to prevent those investors from getting military power.

Nobody said that the ideals and goals of communism and anarchism are bad or wrong. They are actually very pure. However...they won't work because of ....yes...human nature. Ok, environment helps shape human nature. So, in the ideal setting, where nobody's nature has already been shaped, they start with a clean slate, it might start to work. Your environment doesn't shape human nature, that's why it's called "NATURE": The essential characteristics and qualities of a person or thing. Your environment brings out, or amplifies things that are already in your nature. Through conscious decision making you can supress these things...but they've always been there. The system didn't create or cause greed. The system didn't create or cause theft, murder, rape, etc. These things have always existed in man and they will continue to do so. Relying on good faith that none will ever harm you is only asking for chaos.

The moment someone throws 'grow up' in an argument, you know it's a lost cause. Some people really are so full of themselves that it seems utterly implausable that they are wrong; that they could have made a mistake.

Arguments such as those given to you above are an attempt purely to belittle you - it's a form of misinformation tactic, and you should confront them about this and request that they discuss it in a reasonable and civil manner.

As for the 'ideas people' why does someone who was born into money suddenylu have a 'better' mind for coming up with new ideas? It's utterly absurd!

Remember that there really are people out there with no compassion; no altruism; no ability to actually look at a situation rationally

Thank you... It really means a lot to me....
But is there any point trying to teach people like this about our belief? I guess the best thing is to spread the message, ask the questions from those who are interested, and give them a better understanding.... But I guess it goes there... That's the only thing we can do... Through the 3 to 4 months I've tried to educate them, I've only met one person who's open and understands... The thousands of others are just ignorant pricks.... How are we supposed to convince the regular man and woman about communism, when the regular man and woman oppose it?

Alot of things are all about literacy. With literacy you can grasp your own thoughts.
Alot of us think about the same stuff Nietsche thought of, the diferecne is we dont know how to express or expand on it so much because we dont know how to put it, or identify our thoughts, and in alot our environments its not very important.
Dont got no time to be a dreamer...you know. The general public is....unaware of their intelligence. Alot of times inetelligence does not matter.

I suppose this depends on your perspective... If starting wars, overfarming land, suppressing peoples rights and such are 'progressive' then of course, you must right. If being arrogant, self-absorbed, unwilling to partake in reasonable discussion and such like are 'progressive' then of course, again, you must be right.

Any rational human being knows this is a complete fallacy, and societal progress isn't made through purely economic means. Balance is the key to everything in life, and the capitalist system has none. It is by it's nature hanging on tenterhooks.
