You thought it was cheesy near the end? I suppose there a couple of scenes that could come off as cheesy, but I thought the ending was superb, especially the scenes with M.J and Peter where she mutters that famous line, "Go get em' tiger."
Sam Raimi did a fantastic job bring Spidey to the big screen unlike many other comic to movie films, i.e The Hulk, Daredevil and The Punisher. He stayed true to the story and thankfully true to the costume, no alterations such as Daredevil.
I just hope the third one will be just as good or hopefully better than the first two films. It would be unfortunate if the trilogy turned out like the American Pie trilogy, where the first film was outstanding, the second one was even more outstanding than the first, then the third one just sucked putting an end to something that could've been great.
But I have faith in Mr. Raimi.

I thought it was a great movie, it was very true to the actual comic book.

huuummm...
well i never watched Spiderman 2, yet i have seen the first movie, and i honestly think it was one of the worst movies ever.. seriously, it was in my opinion the biggest piece of shit ever created in the USA...

And why do you think it was the biggest piece of shit created in the USA?
It's a rich and beautiful story with many contradicting emotions crafted expertly by Sam Raimi. The actors are great and it stays true to the comic books.
Now why the hell would you say it's the biggest piece of crap created in the USA?

I really dislike these comic book films. Daredevil was the worst film I've ever seen.
Pure trash.

I'm someone who wasn't a fan of the first movie what so ever. I went into Spiderman 2 because of nothing but good reviews from critics, and you know what? They were right. The directing from Raimi is superb, it's like nothing I've ever seen in a super hero movie. And does stay true to the overall comic book experience. The story is tighter, and more entertaining, every interaction Peter Parker has between Mary Jane and Harry Osbourne all lead up to some very surprising scenes that put the movie into focus. Probably the greatest super hero movie ever.

Ok I used to be a massive spiderman fan, until i saw Spider-man 2.
Firstly, why the hell is he walking around without his mask on half the time?!?!?
Secondly, why did Doctor Octopus suck for?! Honestly...the movie reeked, and I hated it.
It has its good points though, like when Peter Parker's screaming 'I'm BACCKK!!' haha, everyone in the theatre thought it was some viagra commercial rip-off.
I dunno man, I think they killed that spiderman character...there's no point now. Without his mask, it just kills the mystery of him, even though we know who he is.

What a pile of smegma (http://www.moviemistakes.com/film3843)
I guess it's a good thing Sam Raimi had no credibility in my eyes to start with ;)

Still haven't seen it, but I will eventually check it out, especially since I was really into collecting comic books at one time. Most people I've talked to say it's way better than the first, but after reading many of the posts on this thread, who knows hahaha.
Most Marvel movies are good, except Daredevil. That movie sucked the big one and not to mention there wasn't that much action.

You think so? That's cool I suppose, but have you ever heard of The Evil Dead Trilogy? I love the Evil Dead movies and Sam Raimi directed those. There are two elements that he brought from the Evil Dead trilogy onto Spider-Man which Evil Dead fans more than likely spotted immediately, the actor Bruce Campbell and the 1973 Oldsmobile Delta 88 (which was the car Uncle Ben drove in the first movie.)

I didn't really think much of the Evil Dead films... now before you scream heretic, hear me out. The first one was pretty dire... low-rate horror trying to be serious and failing miserably. The second was a work of art - spoofing the first one so well, but the third was atrocious in my mind.
I much prefered the Night/Dawn/Day of the Dead movies.
That aside... what does Bruce Campbell do in Spiderman? He's a great comedy actor....

Yeah I here you DaCuban. That's cool. The second one was badass. Bruce Campbell had small but funny parts in both films. The first one was he was the ring announcer at the wrestling match. He's the one that changed Peter's name from the Human Spider to Spider-Man. In the second, he was the funny guy who wouldn't let Peter (who was late) into the theatre to watch Mary Jane's performance in the play.

So is Toby Mcguire
Saw the movie yesterday. The effects were the best I've seen, really great job on that...there were some other great moments as well.
Some things that pissed me off...
-the comments from random people in the street
-something happens, and they show this person screaming
-some scenes seemed forced, and the editing was terrible
I understand that it was supposed to be like a comic or something, but it really bothered me

I believe that in the third installment, The Lizard will make an appearance, as Dr. Curt Connors (Peter Parker's Proffesor) was already introduced in this film. And obviously Harry Osborne will show up as the new Green Goblin as well.

the movie was extremely...long. something tells me it wouldn't have sucked so bad if it was condensed to 100 minutes or less.

Too long, too short...Time is relative when you're having fun. Or not. But I am waiting for Eddie Brock!

Seeing Venom or Carnage on the Big Screen would be nice. So would be seeing the Lizard Guy. Can't compare to the old Fox Spiderman cartoon though.
Also, not enough spider senses.
I liked the movie though. Seeing Donell (aka Ashy Larry from Chappelle's Show) say "Hey he stole that guys pizza!" was great.

Thought the movie was great. Some truly inspired moments, and way ahead of the first one (which was necessarily slow as it was doing the whole origin story).
It shocks me that anyone would dislike this movie. I loved it as a charactar-driven story itself and the fact that it stayed true to the comics. Hearing 'go get em Tiger' was perfect.
I thought the movie improved upon the books (much like the X series has done!) and added a lot of depth to charactars I previously thought a little one-dimensional. It was a great story of a man who was wanting to help the world and so caught up in his own BS that he became unintentionally evil, Doc Oc, really brillaint.
Did anyone else LOL in the bit when he gave up being spidey and the crappy music played? AWESOME!
I, too am really looking forward to Brock/Venom!!!!
What this franchise must do anything to avoid is repeating the same plot of spidey rescuing MJ b/c that is already getting old. However, even if it does continue it won't suck too bad b/c this story is charactar driven and ultimatley about morality -working class morality I might add.
