The (international) noise conspiracy is a swedish band with the singer from the (punk) band refused. They're great - real 60's sounding with radical lyrics. Such great names like 'capitalism stole my viriginity'!

The video for 'smash it up' is great with pictures of Marx, Zapata, Orwell.. and others and references to 1817, 1917 and all sorts of great stuff... download it!!!!! its soo good.

They're working on a new album... cant wait..

An excellent band, and a great band to see live.

Their lyrics and cd notes show an expansive reading by the writers, and a clear knowledge of what they are talking about. Musically they sound great, with plenty of nice songs on each cd that please the ears.

the proceeds of their recent live cd that was recored at the oslo jazz festival is going to the International Solidarity Movement (http://www.palsolidarity.org/).

On a side note, they are really down to earth people to. i saw them perform in san francisco a few months ago, and i ended up meeting 3 members of the band, the bassist, keyboardist and lead singer. the bassist, Inge, liked my free palestine shirt, and keyboardist talked with me for a while about random shit, and the lead singer, Dennis, gave a peace sign to me after the show and talked to me for a quick minute on what he was reading at the time: mostly situationist stuff. they also told me that they signed with a united states based company, so they will most likely be touring in the US more often, so i would suggest to check them out when you can.

check out some old refused stuff too, as that is some great music too.

Hmm, to be honest I prefer refused, but they're still pretty cool.

The shape of Punk to come. If you want classy politpunk listen to refused or at worst anti-flag not sub-standard poseurs like the international noise conspiracy, they should be politicians not musicians. I like their cover of smash it up however and I don't mind capitalism stole my virginty, but I find everything else pretty bland. Long live Refused.

I saw this band live and they were average.

Being "revolutionary" is not charging £12 a show.

Musically, Refused was much better then T(I)NC. i dont think anyone can argue otherwise. But lyrically, T(I)NC has much more to offer.

when i talked to dennis for the few minutes that i did, i asked him how he has personally developed politically from refused to present day T(I)NC. He told me that back in some of the earlier refused days, he was an "anarchist kid." Obviously with The Shape of Punk to Come he began to be much more influenced by situationist material, with references to paris 1968 and the overall writing of the album. He then said that now that he is older and has had much more time to read into more things, his ideas have developed much more. Lyrically The Shape of Punk to Come was great, much better in my opinion then other albums like Songs to Fan the Flames of Discontent. In T(I)NC, when reading the lyrics with the usual quote of influence that accompanies it, you can see the development.

both bands are good with different good qualities of each, but they serve different purposes to the listening audience, i think.

Refused are fucking great. Listening to T(I)NC is just depressing when you think of what Denis Lyxzen gave the world with Refused.
