I don't throw the word genius around a lot but I think this guy is one. I thought Nirvana were the next great thing to happen since the beatles, Radiohead were falsely hailed as the next thing to trump Nirvana, but this guy just may do it. I'd even put him next to or maybe above Bob Dylan in the geius/innovator stakes.

If you don't know his music you can preview every track on his albums and you can also download one free full-length track called "the body breaks" at Young God Records (http://younggodrecords.com) I stronglt reccommend listening to his stuff.

Bob Dylan was widely thought to have made 'music by numbers'. I don't agree, but sometimes I feel it comes through...

Ok, fair enough. I dont' agree, but then not much can compare to the fab four :D

...but I'm sorry, I can't let that slip. Are you from the US? Is this why Radiohead never really made it over there? They were being touted as the next Nirvana?
Radiohead and Nirvana share so little in common musically it's unreal...
I'm not familiar with the artist in question, but I'll have a goosey - thanks.
Incidentally, the guy in the portrait on the right is the absolute spitting image of the Russian Priest from the early Jackie Chan move 'Snake in the Eagles Shadow'
:D

Maybe you didn't read what I wrote carefully. I did not say any of them sounded alike, I was drawing ability comparisons. I know Radiohead don't sound like Nirvana.... however, their first album Pablo Honey was directly influenced by Nirvana and Thom Yorke has been quoted as saying that for their first album they "just tried to rip off Nirvana" hence songs like Creep. It wasn't until Kid A when they completely changed course due to the huge impact that Sigur Ros had on them. I'm not American by the way I'm an Australian and my state is Tasmania. Also your from the UK? you posted UK dates, well it was the NME that claimed them as the "Next Nirvana" not the yank music press. But all I can say is that this guy is just great, and has the potential to be as influential, important and innovative as as Beatles/Dylan/Nirvana. Thank you.

He certainly sounds promising from the spiel on the site there...

Hah! wouldn't surprise me - it's an absolute rag
I wasn't trying to attack you, by the way <_< and yes, I'm UK based. Thought someone might appreciate the dates he's playing at Reading and Leeds, although I won't be able to attend myself :(

I know you weren't attacking me so much as what you perceived as correcting; I did the same thing. I agree the NME is a rag but I buy it religiously for the album review section and the high quality photos. I reckon that if there is 40 writers at NME 1 of them knows what they're on about and I buy it to listen to what that minority thinks.
